One of the greatest things about Soulsborne games is that players can wield massive weapons to decimate their enemies and squash them like bugs if they're strong enough. Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree introduced some great new weapons for all tastes. Options range from Straight Swords and Light Curved Swords, to Colossal weapons wielded by some of the most formidable enemies in the DLC.
While exploring the Lands of Shadow, players will encounter many obstacles that they'll have to overcome to reach the DLC's final boss and proclaim themselves the ultimate Elden Lord. To be successful in their quest, they must choose the right armaments. To help the Tarnished on their journey, here are the best new Colossal Swords introduced in Shadow of the Erdtree.
All Light Greatswords & How To Get Them in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Light Greatswords are a new weapon type added in the Elden Ring DLC. There are only three of these weapons in the entire game.
5 Moonrithyll's Knight Sword
Physical Damage: 124
How To Get | Dropped by Moonrithyll, Carian Knight, upon defeat |
---|---|
Weapon Type | Colossal Sword |
Damage Type | Physical (124), Magic (80), Critical (100) |
Scaling | Strength (D), Dexterity (D), Intelligence (D) |
Requirements | Strength (20), Dexterity (14), Intelligence (18) |
Weight | 18.00 |
Scaling primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence, the Moonrithyll’s Knight Sword is a great weapon for players looking for versatility and decent Physical Damage output. Dropped by the hostile NPC invader Moonrithyll, Carian Knight, this new Colossal Sword in Shadow of the Erdtree requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade. It bears a strong resemblance to the Troll Knight’s Sword.
The Moonrythill’s Knight Sword also deals a fair amount of Magic Damage, making it great against enemies weak to this Element. That said, players looking to wield this massive weapon will need at least 20 Strength and a decent carrying capacity. This is because it has a whopping weight of 18 that can cause over-encumbrance rather quickly.
4 Greatsword of Radahn (Light)
Physical Damage: 129
How To Get | Trade Remembrance of a God and a Lord with Enia at the Roundtable Hold |
---|---|
Weapon Type | Colossal Sword |
Damage Type | Physical (129), Magic (83), Critical (100) |
Scaling | Strength (D), Dexterity (D), Intelligence (E) |
Requirements | Strength (32), Dexterity (24), Intelligence (15) |
Weight | 20.00 |
Radahn Promised Consort's boss fight is one of the hardest (if not the hardest) instances of a final challenge in the Soulsborne universe. Serving as the final boss of the DLC, Radahn has a lot to throw at the Tarnished, from endless meteorite showers to rapid, vicious attacks and other gravity-exploiting abilities. The Greatsword of Radahn(Light) is one of the two variants of this boss's weapon. It appears to be a slimmer, slightly longer version of the Starscourge Greatsword.
All Shadow of the Erdtree Boss Remembrances
Elden Ring DLC has 10 new boss remembrances for players to collect and exchange with Enia for powerful equipment.
There seems to be no explanation for the noticeable changes seen in Radahn's blades. However, it's undeniable that those obtained in the DLC are far more powerful than the ones he wields in Caelid. These paired Greatswords deal decent Physical Damage, and also Inflict Magic Damage, which is ideal for versatility. To get this weapon, players will have to trade the Remembrance of a God and a Lord with Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
3 Greatsword of Radahn (Lord)
Physical Damage: 129
How To Get | Trade Remembrance of a God and a Lord with Enia at the Roundtable Hold |
---|---|
Weapon Type | Colossal Sword |
Damage Type | Physical (129), Magic (83), Critical (100) |
Scaling | Strength (D), Dexterity (D), Intelligence (E) |
Requirements | Strength (32), Dexterity (24), Intelligence (15) |
Weight | 20.00 |
The "Lord" variant of the Greatsword of Radahn is arguably the stronger of the two. Many players have stated that the "Light" version's Special Ability takes longer to charge, making it less effective against fast enemies. Both Greatswords use deadly rays of light as a Special Ability, and their Stats and other movesets are the same. Yet, the Lord variant feels more powerful overall.
These paired Greatswords demand considerable Strength Stats to wield. They each boast a whopping weight of 20, which can be enough for over-encumbrance if players are already wearing heavy armor to protect themselves from damage or boost their Poise.
2 Fire Knight's Greatsword
Physical Damage: 147
How To Get | Dropped by Fire Knights in the Shadow Keep |
---|---|
Weapon Type | Colossal Sword |
Damage Type | Physical (147), Fire (44), Critical (100) |
Scaling | Strength (D), Dexterity (D), Faith (D) |
Requirements | Strength (22), Dexterity (18), Faith (12) |
Weight | 16.00 |
Another one of the best new Colossal weapons in Shadow of the Erdtree is the Fire Knight's Greatsword. It deals considerable Physical and Fire Damage, while being lighter than other weapons on this list. It also doesn't require absurdly high Strength to wield. This massive weapon is dropped by Fire Knights in the Shadow Keep. However, it seems that the drop rate is quite low, so players will have to farm this enemy ad nauseam to get it.
Elden Ring: 12 Best Fire Weapons, Ranked
Fire damage is a useful tool in Elden Ring, and these weapons are the best ones for players who wish to use them.
As with many other special weapons in Elden Ring, the Fire Knight's Greatsword can't be buffed or infused. Players will have to rely on the Colossal Sword's regular Special Skill, "Stamp (Upward Cut)" if they want to wield it. Luckily, this weapon scales equally with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, which makes it ideal for versatility. According to this Colossal Sword's description, flame imbuement can increase its fire effect and the weapon's power. Players with high enough Faith Stats and an arsenal of fire spells will benefit greatly from wielding it.
1 Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword
Physical Damage: 154
How To Get | Found at the Ruined Forge Starfall Past after examining the altar in the area |
---|---|
Weapon Type | Colossal Sword |
Damage Type | Physical (154), Magic (46), Critical (100) |
Scaling | Strength (D), Dexterity (E), Arcane (D) |
Requirements | Strength (35), Dexterity (10), Faith (19) |
Weight | 22.00 |
Created from an excavated shard of meteoric ore, this weapon was once part of a godly arsenal. The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword deals the most Physical Damage out of all the Colossal Swords on this list. It scales primarily with Strength and Arcane, and secondarily with Dexterity. This weapon requires a considerable 35 Strength to wield, and has a gargantuan weight of 22.
The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword can't be buffed or infused with Ashes of War, Incantations, Sorceries, or Consumables. However, it has a great Special Skill, "White Light Charge." This skill allows the Tarnished to lunge forward and cover a great distance at lightning-fast speed to produce a massive explosion of light that deals additional damage to enemies. This weapon is not only useful in battle, but also has an intimidating design that will complement any armor set in the DLC.
