Bandai Namco and FromSoftware are set to release Elden Ring in days and fans of the developer continue to receive new teaser videos, images, and bits of information. FromSoftware has released its latest hints for what Elden Ring players can expect from the game, showing off a portal and some weird creatures. The Elden Ring Twitter account recently shared two new screenshots that tease unconfirmed aspects of the game. The first of the images centers on a heavy armor-clad Tarnished reaching one arm into a circular hole in a gray and blue shrine. Swirling within the circle is a purple portal that players will discover along their adventure in the realm of the Lands Between.RELATED: Elden Ring Pre-Load Now Available on Xbox, Even If You Don't Own the GameIt's currently unclear what the portal in the first image is used for, but players may use it to gain stronger powers, traverse Elden Ring's open world, or solve puzzles. Because the Tarnished is shown reaching into the portal, it is likely that interacting with shrines like this in Elden Ring serves a useful purpose. Within the portal is a series of specs that may be constellations possibly referencing a character called General Radahn, who is the conqueror of the stars, or the Elden Ring itself, which commanded the stars according to the game's lore.

The Tarnished isn't featured in the second image shared by the Elden Ring Twitter account as the screenshot focuses on a type of enemy that fans will run into as they play. There are four short creatures portrayed in an open area of the Lands Between that resembles a swamp, and each of them is equipped for combat. Two of the enemies carry curved swords that are like elongated Scimitars, while the other two hold different types of staves similar to enemies in other titles from the studio.

The short creatures teased by FromSoftware resemble aliens with their short stature and large black eyes, although they also share human characteristics like wide noses and plump lips. The enemies wear a neutral expression as they gaze soullessly like Dark Souls 3's Harald Legion Knight or Bloodborne's Labyrinth Sage. In the background of the swamp that these beasts reside in is what appears to be a Gothic cathedral.

These little Elden Ring swamp beasts may appear to be easier foes, but players may be overwhelmed by their onslaught when they all team up against the Tarnished. Because they appear to be wearing cloth armor, they may dish out more damage than they can take. The Gothic cathedral teased by the images may be an important location in the game as it stands out from the area around it and likely contains many rooms to explore.

Elden Ring releases on February 25 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
