An Elden Ring player has taken advantage of the Giant Rat Ashes to beat Sir Gideon Ofnir without taking a single hit. There are a number of uncommon builds in Elden Ring, which have their fair share of benefits and combine certain attributes such as Dexterity, Strength, and Intelligence. Better yet, players can always bend these builds into their playstyle in case they want to take on enemies with a different approach.

Elden Ring allows players to unleash their creativity and change their combat style through a wide array of items. Though there are some constraints, the game gives them the freedom to design unorthodox builds when it comes to character creation. Since its initial launch in 2022, Elden Ring players have been sharing their craziest builds, which granted their characters great strength and durability. Recently, one imaginative player turned the Tarnished into Dark Souls' Giant Dad, a custom-built character that is now a popular meme.

In a post submitted to the Elden Ring subreddit, a user named PalpitationWitty8195 showed a unique build they created without spending a single rune. The core element of this build is the Giant Rat Ashes, which players can initially use to summon the spirits of three rats that can perform fast attacks. Upgrading the Giant Rat Ashes is free, and spirits do not require focus points to summon. Additionally, the number of rats players summon increases as they upgrade the Giant Rat Ashes.

The player also seems to have applied the Ash of War: Spinning Slash to a Grave Scythe weapon, and the combination of the scythe with the summoned rats allowed PalpitationWitty8195 to take down Sir Gideon Ofnir in 10 seconds. Elden Ring's Sir Gideon Ofnir is the first boss players will encounter upon their return to Lyndell. He is a powerful sorcerer but has the lowest health of bosses in the game. Players only need to look out for his Sorceries that cause Magic and Holy damage.

Now that Elden Ring has been out for quite some time, one of the best ways to have fun in The Lands Between is to create unconventional builds, which transform the way players engage with enemies. As an example, Elden Ring's Squidward build allows players to take on bosses with a musical approach and makes the combat more engaging. The build consists of a few items that can be found in the wild, including a Great Hammer weapon and an Envoy's Long Horn.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
