Elden Ring is easily one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2022, and soon fans will get to play it for themselves. The Elden Ring release date is merely weeks away at this point, and so FromSoftware has been showcasing more of the game lately to get fans excited. This has included new looks at some of the classes that Elden Ring players will be able to pick from come launch, with FromSoftware pulling the curtain back on yet another one.

The official Elden Ring Twitter account has shared a new image of two of the game's classes, showing off the Warrior and the Prisoner. The Elden Ring Warrior class has been known for quite some time, and it was even one of the options for those that participated in the game's closed network tests. The Elden Ring Prisoner class is new, and it stands out thanks to its rather creepy-looking design.

The Elden Ring Prisoner class is notable for the iron mask that covers most of its head. According to the lore, the Prisoner class "studied in glintstone sorcery" and "lived among the elite" prior to their sentencing. Having their head stuck in an iron mask is somewhat reminiscent of the Elden Ring Prophet class, which has what appears to be a wagon wheel around their neck.

As far as the Warrior class goes, FromSoftware has said that the Warrior class is a "nomad warrior who fights wielding two blades at once. An origin of exceptional technique." Needless to say, the Warrior class in Elden Ring is a lot more straightforward than the Prisoner class. However, the Prisoner class has a more unique design and flavorful backstory, so it will be interesting to see which Elden Ring classes players select come launch day.

Of course, the Warrior and Prisoner classes in Elden Ring are just the tip of the iceberg. There are a number of other Elden Ring classes that players can choose from, like the aforementioned Prophet, the Vagabond, the Hero, the Bloody Wolf, and others. Some of the classes still have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing, including the Wretch, the Bandit, the Astrologer, and the Samurai, but Elden Ring fans can expect FromSoftware to showcase these designs sooner rather than later.

While these particular Elden Ring classes have not been fully revealed to the public yet, FromSoftware has revealed some details about them. For example, the Wretch will likely be the hardest class to play in Elden Ring, with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki describing it as the "naked' character. It remains to be seen exactly where the Warrior and Prisoner classes fall on the difficulty spectrum, but fans can find out for themselves come launch day.

Elden Ring launches February 25 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
