A Reddit user called thenephilim1337 found themselves in a complicated situation after being dispatched by the Bell Bearing Hunter. Upon revival and entry into the Church of Vows, they found out that Elden Ring’s Pastor of Vows, Miriel (a big tortoise NPC who dwells there), had respawned directly on top of their runes, making them inaccessible. Sharing the issue with the Elden Ring community, thenephilim1337 humorously suggested the idea of confronting the tortoise to reclaim their runes.

Fellow players swiftly responded with practical suggestions, advising thenephilim1337 to face Elden Ring’s Bell Bearing Hunter once more and seize the runes during the tortoise's absence. The Bell Bearing Hunter is an optional boss that players can encounter multiple times throughout the game. This formidable opponent only emerges at night, and it is not uncommon for some players to struggle with locating him. To guarantee an encounter, players must ensure they have entered Stormveil Castle beforehand. Defeating the Bell Bearing Hunter is no easy feat, as it inflicts significant damage, particularly if the character's level is below 40 when facing this adversary.
