An Elden Ring player shows how to absolutely melt Dragonlord Placidusax's health by just using the game's Ornamental Straight Swords. Elden Ring's combat is as far and wide-reaching as the world that the story takes place in, with a variety of weapons, magics, Ashes of War, and more to work with. When Elden Ring players can defeat the Fire Giant with a Squidward build, there really can be no end to the possibilities for players when it comes to taking on some of the game's more difficult challenges.

Dragonlord Placidusax is specifically a boss in Elden Ring that a player can fight after the main game has been completed, requiring them to return to Crumbling Farum Azula and find a little cubby to lie down in, so they can be teleported to the fight. While the boss fight itself shouldn't be underestimated as it has its own bevy of devastating magic attacks to avoid, the fight itself isn't as difficult as something like Malenia. In fact, Elden Ring players enjoy defeating Dragonlord Placidusax as fast as they can.

However, for one Elden Ring player, it seems Dragonlord Placidusax was more or less a way to show how easy he was to take down with a couple of swords. Posting to r/Eldenring, user DaddyWhoGames uploaded a video of their fight with the Dragonlord, wielding Ornamental Straight Swords, which is a weapon specifically meant to be dual-wielded if the player two-hands it. These swords actually have a weapon art called Golden Tempering, which turns their strong attack into a combo attack. While using this weapon art, the player managed to dodge all the boss' attacks while they whittle down Dragonlord Placidusax's health quickly, defeating him within 20 seconds.

After felling the Dragonlord Placidusax, the player then goes to their menu to show off their stats, with the most prominent being a 71 in dexterity, which the Ornamental Straight Swords scale with. In the comments, many users were encouraged by this video to give the straight swords a chance, as even in a game like Elden Ring where a low intelligence mage build finds success, there's a chance anything can work.

While Elden Ring players should find weapons they enjoy using, they should also experiment and attempt new things. The game has many weapons and magics to use, so one could never know what truly fits them unless they try. In this same game, Elden Ring players have managed to beat Malenia using just consumables, so the possibilities when it comes to successful builds are near limitless.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
