Elden Ring has been praised by many players for its stunning immersive graphics, but lamented for its lack of a Photo Mode. Thanks to the hard work of a skilled modder, however, Elden Ring PC users have been granted a Photo Mode option for beautifying their gameplay achievements with artistic filters and adjustments.

Many modern games come with a Photo Mode such as God of War and Ghost of Tsushima, allowing for grandiose images to be stylized in many ways. The Elden Ring mod enables gamers to capture the stunning sights across the Lands Between with virtually unlimited freedom.

Photography modes have become a much preferred feature allowing gamers to preserve brief moments such as Red Dead Redemption 2's dynamic weather. The Elden Ring mod, developed by modder Otis_Inf, brings with it all the usual fixtures of a standard in-game Photo Mode. With the mod installed and game paused, players have the freedom to move the camera and its angle in any direction, change lighting fixtures, and even move sunlight to get the perfect lighting on a lush landscape or a dramatic battle. Other worthwhile features enable gamers to get the best use of Elden Ring's game engine, such as removing the "Chromatic Aberration" caused by high contrasts in light and increasing "Level of Details." Much praise has been given to this ubiquitous feature, allowing freedom of creativity and a keen eye for both amateurs and professionals. Even Hideo Kojima has praised in-game photo modes for their ability to hone the skills of real-life photographers as a result. Many AAA game releases are happy to include such a feature, so their high-resolution graphics get the recognition they deserve.

Unfortunately, Elden Ring doesn’t yet have official mod support thanks to "Anti-Cheat" measures. If players have downloaded the mod it is suggested they play offline, removing the mod files before they start playing online again. These difficulties might detract people from willing to access the photo mode, but there's still a demand for FromSoftware to add a legitimate Photo Mode to rival other games like Ghost of Tsushima.

The mod is free to download, but players can donate to the creator's Patreon to show support. With the rapid turnaround of patches and fixes for Elden Ring's performance issues, FromSoftware is doing its best to make the game an enjoyable experience for many players. An official Photo Mode is hopefully on the way in a future update for PC and console users, but only time will tell.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
