While most of the map fragments in Elden Ring are easy to access, that is not the case for absolutely all of them. The route to the Map (Mt. Gelmir) fragment for instance, is quite convoluted, and some players may find themselves stuck as they attempt to navigate it. Assisting those fans is the precise purpose of this guide, and full details on how to reach Elden Ring's Mt. Gelmir map fragment can be found in what follows.

To note, the following walkthrough will assume that players have at least reached the Bridge of Inquiry Site of Grace, as that is the first time that they will typically receive indication that they are in Mt. Gelmir. Fans that have not yet made it to that point should instead put their efforts toward accessing the Altus Plateau region by way of Elden Ring's Grand Lift of Dectus or by defeating Magma Wyrm Makar. Those players should then navigate to the northwest corner of the Altus Plateau and cross the wooden bridge to Mt. Gelmir.

Elden Ring: How to Get Mt. Gelmir Map Fragment

  1. Start at the Bridge of Inquiry Site of Grace on the east side of Mt. Gelmir.
  2. Travel northwest to reach an area with several large Pendulum Statue enemies. Rather than fight these foes, stick to the cliff on the west side of the area to find a ladder that should be climbed.
  3. At the top of the ladder, activate the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace in Elden Ring to the southeast before riding northwest past a guard tower.
  4. Just beyond the guard tower, turn north, ride across a bridge made of stone, and climb the ladder that is just ahead.
  5. Upon reaching the top of the ladder, turn to the left and climb the next ladder, walk past a trader, and climb one more ladder.
  6. After scaling the final ladder, travel west and cross the wooden bridge to access the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite Site of Grace.
  7. Summon Torrent in Elden Ring and ride the nearby Spiritspring to reach the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast boss fight. Use the narrow stone path on the west side of this area to keep progressing. Notably, the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast does not need to be defeated at this point.
  8. Continue west to the edge of the map and then go south to reach the Mt. Gelmir map fragment.

With the Mt. Gelmir map fragment in hand, players may want to head east to the nearby Minor Erdtree. Fans that defeat the enemy at this location will earn a very powerful Crystal Tear in Elden Ring that provides unlimited FP temporarily. Alternatively, players can make their way to the nearby Volcano Manor if they have not visited that location already.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
