An Elden Ring mod reimagined FromSoftware's critically acclaimed open-world Soulslike as a Bloodborne-style horror game. Since its release in 2015, Bloodborne has become one of the most iconic titles of the PlayStation 4 console generation, with critics and fans alike still remembering the game for its fast-paced action and Lovecraftian esthetics. Now, one creative Elden Ring fan is developing a mod that can bring Bloodborne's dark and grim atmosphere to The Lands Between.

In recent years, there's been no shortage of fans who have held out hope that Bloodborne might eventually venture beyond Sony's PlayStation consoles. While an Xbox version will likely never be on the table, there is still a sizable portion of FromSoftware's fan base who believe there is a chance that the action RPG could be ported over to the PC. There is even some precedent to this as Sony has been consistently turning some of the most beloved PlayStation exclusives into multi-platform titles, with games like Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part 1, and God of War making the jump to desktops. Unfortunately, while FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki admitted that he was not opposed to the idea, the decision to port Bloodborne to PC was not entirely his to make.

Elden Ring Players Think One DLC Weapon Is Overpowered

Some Elden Ring players make a convincing argument for why one of the new weapons introduced in Shadow of the Erdtree can be considered overpowered.

But while Bloodborne is not officially moving to PC, a fanmade mod will at least let the beloved Soulslike unofficially step into The Lands Between. Created by corvianNexus, the "Graceborne" mod is a partial overhaul of Elden Ring that aims to evoke the same feeling of existential horror from Bloodborne. The mod includes an array of Hunter weaponry, with trick weapons, firearms, and armor sets. Aside from equipment, Graceborne additionally emulates Bloodborne's gameplay features, allowing players to quick-step instead of rolling when locked on, parry enemies with firearms, and regain health with a rally mechanic.

Elden Ring's Graceborne Mod Releases Alpha

While Graceborne will undoubtedly intrigue fans of both Elden Ring and Bloodborne, the mod is notably still in its Alpha phase, meaning players might encounter issues when using the mod. Most notably, a bug with ranged weapons leads to an instant crash whenever the player opens the smithing menu with a firearm in their inventory. Some of the Bloodborne weapons might also be unbalanced as element scaling does not work at the time of writing.

Despite the bugs, Graceborne is still an ambitious overhaul mod that aims to combine the best features of two iconic FromSoftware games. Interested fans can download it from the Nexus Mods website for free, though they will have to downgrade their version of Elden Ring to a pre-Shadow of the Erdtree patch to properly install the mod.
