Elden Ring is FromSoftware's masterpiece, and overhauls many of the gameplay elements from the Dark Souls franchise to create new and amazing combat systems. Along with the basic mechanics also comes the classically difficult FromSoftware boss fights. The first boss that players encounter in Elden Ring, called Margit the Fell Omen, is an extreme challenge for players that foreshadows the harder battles later in the title.

Margit, the Fell Omen is such a significant challenge, in fact, that some players have expressed their frustration with the character. Indeed, Margit is not meant to be fought right away, even though players are led to him early on. Instead, gamers are intended to die in the fight and then explore Elden Ring's rich world to gain power and levels. The preparation for the battle includes players leveling up a few times and upgrading their weapons to +2 or +3. Players can (and should) also take advantage of the NPC summoner Rogier during the fight. Given the difficulty of the battle, it is very impressive that a player managed to defeat Margit without dodging, blocking, parrying, or jumping.

Recently, Reddit user Tired_Shinobi posted a video to the Elden Ring subreddit detailing their combat with Margit. Without using any basic gameplay mechanics, nor any of Elden Ring's greatswords or other powerful weapons, Tired_Shinobi managed to kill Margit, the Fell Omen without taking any damage. The magnitude of this achievement is one that only Elden Ring players who have spent hours trying to beat Margit can fully understand.

The ability to evade Margit, the Fell Omen by sprinting alone is certainly impressive. Given the fact that the boss has many powers that allow him to jump and dash forward, it takes incredible precision to remain at full health. While not as difficult as other bosses, like Starscourge Radahn in Elden Ring, Margit's ranged and melee attacks are still powerful enough to infuriate and challenge gamers.

More than anything, the defeat of Margit without any fancy abilities shows that even though Elden Ring is extremely hard, there are plenty of players that are up to the task of facing its bosses. And, though it poses a significant challenge for most, the death of Margit ends in a heartbreaking way and forges a path toward the next enemies in Elden Ring. For those who are finding the fight with Margit tedious, however, it comes as a pleasant surprise to see that the boss isn't invincible, and that some players have been able to dispose of him without even breaking a sweat.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
