An early boss in Elden Ring, Margit the Fell Omen, acts as one of the initial roadblocks towards forward progression leading into some of the more open areas of the title. While some players might need tips for defeating Margit due to the boss' intense combos and heavy-hitting attacks, others are dealing with the imposing boss with trick-shots and an added bit of flair.

One of these players shared a recent video where they pulled out a bow and landed an impressive hit that the original Reddit post claims would have made Dark Souls' Hawkeye Gough proud. Regardless of what the old fan-favorite might think, the final shot is an impressive example of Elden Ring combat that could have risked the entire fight for the sake of this one arrow.

The fight itself is already impressive, as the player spends much of the clip two-handing a twinblade and dodging around Margit's quickly paced spectral attacks and ranged knife throws. However, when the fight is almost finished, instead of simply landing one final attack with the same weapon they had been fighting with the entire time, the player pulls out a bow and takes a shot while the boss is flying through the air. This could have ended with another example of a heartbreaking defeat to Margit, many of which have already been shared around by Elden Ring players, but the result is instead an incredible victory over a punishing boss.

To add insult to injury on the part of Margit, the player was already down to low enough health that if the boss' final attack had landed, that would have easily ended the fight right there. So, not only did the player manage to land this intense shot on a charging, nearly flying boss, but they also did so with victory hanging on this single arrow. It is an impressive showcase of the bows in Elden Ring as well, considering that many of the ranged weapons in previous From Software games haven't had the reliable speed or accuracy to be hip-fired at bosses this way.

For anyone who has pushed through the process of learning Margit's move-set and beating this boss by the skin of their teeth, the idea of doing something this showy is harrowing. The boss has massive combos that can chase a player halfway across the arena and drain their stamina and health in seconds if any attacks manage to connect. With Margit acting as the first big speed bump for beginners in Elden Ring, seeing him get taken down so spectacularly is almost cathartic to watch.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
