Like many other video game communities, passionate members of the Elden Ring fan base can often be seen sharing artwork online. One particularly talented artist has painted several members of the Elden Ring cast, with the latest character that was focused upon being Maliketh, the Black Blade.
Maliketh has proven to be incredibly popular with the Elden Ring community, and it is easy to see why. One of the final main bosses that players get to fight within FromSoftware’s latest release, Maliketh boast some unique black and gold armor as well as his eponymous Black Blade. This weapon is what makes the second phase of the fight so memorable, as alongside Maliketh’s agility, his weapon lowers the health pools of players while simultaneously having the ability to drain their health after a hit lands.
While players have paid tribute to the character by becoming Big Maliketh, Reddit user tyranosaure has shown some love for Marika’s Shadow through a truly breathtaking art piece. The painting looks like a tapestry and is full of incredible details, such as Ranni and Marika being placed to the left and right of the main image. Commenters pointed out the Black Blade Kindreds that were included at the top of the tapestry, which is an incredible detail that pays homage to the faction’s role as Maliketh’s servants.
Obviously, Maliketh himself is the main star of the show, with the character seen roaring in the center of the art piece. All the gold accents can be seen clearly on his armor, as can the white hair atop his head. Just like it does in the game, Maliketh’s Black Blade glows red due to its lifesteal effect, with the powerful weapon being just as eye catching as the beast that is wielding it. Unsurprisingly, the piece is doing well on Reddit, bringing in over 4,000 upvotes and many positive comments from fellow Elden Ring fans.
For those that love the artist’s style, several other pieces like this can be seen on their profile. Radahn has gotten a similar tapestry piece, as has Ranni. With many loving the pieces shared by the artist, fans can only hope that similar artwork will be shared as time goes on. One giant tapestry that combines all the pieces could be incredible, as there is a consistent style across every painting that tyranosaure shares. Each piece does a great job of portraying the characters and capturing Elden Ring’s aesthetic, too.
While it remains to be seen if some proper Elden Ring DLC will actually be released, bringing some new bosses to dedicate fan art to, gamers are clearly having fun with the current roster of enemies. For those that love Maliketh and remember his fight fondly, it will be hard to top this painting.
