An Elden Ring fan made a chart that compares the size of Malenia’s weapon to various swords from Final Fantasy 7. Elden Ring features many difficult boss fights, but Malenia is arguably the most challenging battle in the game. She has two deadly phases and a unique passive that heals her upon landing a hit even if the player blocks the attack.

Melania in Elden Ring uses a katana appropriately named Hand of Malenia, and it has a unique skill move known as Waterfowl Dance, which attacks foes with a series of strikes. Fans can use the Hand of Malenia after defeating her and exchanging the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess at the Roundtable Hold. The Hand of Malenia katana is considered to be one of the best swords in Elden Ring, but players have plenty of good options to choose from depending upon their play style. While Malenia’s weapon appears to be pretty long, one fan compares its size to some iconic swords from Final Fantasy 7.

A Reddit user named FemRevan64 has created a chart that shows the lengths of the Hand of Malenia katana, Cloud’s Buster Sword, and Masamune used by Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7. Malenia’s weapon towers above the rest, as the chart lists its length at 270 cm. By comparison, the Buster Sword is 185.5 cm in length, with Masamune sitting at 213 cm. The chart also makes note of Dragonslayer from the Berserk franchise and shows its length as 198 cm. Finally, it compares the three swords to the height of an average man, which is listed at 175.4 cm.

FemRevan64 is the same player who made a chart comparing the heights of Malenia, Cloud, and Sephiroth. They show Melania being 256 cm tall, with Cloud and Sephiroth listed at 200 cm and 173 cm respectively. Given the data from the two charts, the weapons for all three characters are longer than the height of the person wielding them. On the other hand, users seem to agree that Guts is slightly taller than his sword.

Some fans in the comments section discuss Cloud being too short when compared to the other characters featured in the chart. Others also talk about the weight of these weapons, with one claiming that the Dragonslayer weighs around 180 kg. While Malenia seems to be within a reasonable limit when compared to other enemies in the game, One Elden Ring fan wants to know Starscourge Radahn’s height and how the length of his weapon compares to the Hand of Malenia.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
