FromSoftware has announced that its hit title Elden Ring has crossed another notable sales milestone, cementing its place as one of the studio's best releases to date. The action RPG by Bandai Namco and FromSoftware saw massive success since its launch in 2022, with its latest sales figures indicating that Elden Ring continues to thrive among gamers.Despite its unorthodox take on the open world in a seemingly niche genre, Elden Ring went on to become an immediate hit with its release and managed to break a number of records in gaming, including the studio's previous Dark Souls 3 record. The game's popularity continued to top the charts even months after its release and Elden Ring ended up as the Game of the Year for 2022. Now nearly a year later, FromSoftware's hit RPG crosses another massive sales figure.RELATED:FromSoftware's Next Game is Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon and It's Coming Next YearAccording to the company, Elden Ring has officially sold over 20 million copies worldwide, which includes both physical and digital sales. It's worth noting that out of this, Elden Ring crossed the 16.6 million mark by June 2022 which means that more than 83% of its 20 million sales were made during the first four months of release. That may not come as a surprise considering the title became the fastest-selling game for FromSoftware where over 12 million copies were sold within the first month itself.

While sales appear to have slowed down in recent months, its popularity remains high as FromSoftware continued to issue multiple post-launch updates, most notably the multiplayer arenas feature. After all, not many games that take the scale and format of Elden Ring manage to cross 20 million sales within a year of its launch. Of course, the studio is yet to release an expansion for the game, but a recent Steam update indicates that a new Elden Ring DLC may be on the way. However, it's unclear how this DLC will take form in the game until FromSoftware officially confirms the upcoming content.

Apart from the possible Elden Ring DLC, the studio also has another ambitious game in the works for 2023 with Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. So far, not many details have been shared on what to expect from the new Armored Core apart from the difficult combat mechanics. Although the upcoming title along with more Elden Ring content may spell another huge year for FromSoftware. In any case, fans will likely have high expectations of what's to come from the studio in 2023, especially after the massive reception for Elden Ring.
