After putting up huge Steam wishlist and preorder numbers, Elden Ring's sales numbers are looking near record-breaking as well. Along with these numbers, Elden Ring ratings and reviews are also incredibly strong, showing that FromSoftware's first foray into the open-world genre has been a huge success.

However, though the game has performed well, it is not without flaw; what negative reviews the game has garnered have mostly been due to performance issues in Elden Ring. These have ranged from issues concerning saving the game to massive frame rate drops for many players, leading to a sometimes unsatisfying experience.

Recently, players have discovered more than simple performance issues plaguing the game; instead, the game is facing the open-world problem of bugs and glitches, such as the Elden Ring invisible horse bug. These problems are to be expected with games containing massive areas, and while some can be frustrating, other times they can lead to pretty hilarious moments.

Such was the case with a recent Reddit clip posted by user the_goon12, who captured the moment a massive gargoyle decided to go for an incredibly disrespectful kill. Much like the maneuverable flamethrowers in Elden Ring, even an average gargoyle can take time to kill, as they are quite nimble for their size and take hits like a tank. However, this particular gargoyle decided to take the fight one step further, going for full style and disrespect by bouncing up and down on the_goon12's head.

Due to the glitch, two factors contributed to the_goon12's unfortunate demise. First, it appears the gargoyle glitched into the wall and became stuck in a constant jumping loop. For many enemies, this would leave them defenseless, offering an easy kill. However, gargoyles and other massive enemies typically have hitboxes on their legs and feet; thus, when the_goon12 made the unfortunate mistake of approaching, the constant jumping obliterated their health bar, marking an easy yet quite unfair win for the gargoyle.

Unlike the Elden Ring teleporting backstab glitch, which leads to lost runes and frustrating deaths, the_goon12's clip is an example of a wacky bug that is typical of open-world games. This particular glitch was also quite fitting for a series known for its random unfairness, making for a very typical FromSoftware death. While it is preferable that games are fully polished upon release, no game is perfect, but in this case Elden Ring's imperfections lead to perhaps one of the most disrespectful beatdowns since the game's release.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
