Elden Ring is set in an open world where players have to fight deadly creatures and hideous bosses to advance in the game. However, certain prisons, referred to as Evergaols, imprison most of these creatures and ensure the safety of the Lands Between. These Evergaols are scattered across the map and conquering them is an effective way to get valuable loot.

Sellia Evergaol, just like the rest of the Evergaols in the game, houses a powerful boss and tests players’ abilities. However, getting there can be somewhat tricky. Keep reading the following guide to learn how to reach Sellia Evergaol in the Elden Ring.

How to Get to Sellia Evergaol in Elden Ring

Before embarking on a journey to Sellia Evergaol, it's recommended for players to reach at least Level 30.

Sellia Evergaol lies in the Dragonbarrow region of the map. Players can start their journey by going to Northern Caelid from the Dragonbarrow West Grace Site. Move east from here on after summoning Torrent. Upon reaching the lake with two dragons, gamers need to head right. Next, they should travel past the smoldering walls and the area guarded by the dragon. That's where the Sellia Evergaol is; next to this boss prison lies the Stake of Marika.

Once players reach Sellia Evergaol in the game, they will face the Battlemage Hugues boss. If gamers manage to defeat it, they will be rewarded with spirit ashes, which can be used to summon the spirit of Battlemage Hugues.

As mentioned earlier, Evergaols only serve as boss prisons in Elden Ring. Expectedly then, Sellia Evergaol doesn’t have any treasure chests or other loot items. The only valuable item that players can find here is Battlemage Hugues Ashes.

As far as the enemies in Sellia Evergaol are concerned, Battlemage Hugues is pretty much the only challenging enemy in this area. Players will not have to fight regular enemies in this prison, but they should watch out for the Watcher Stones.

While most Evergaols are plain, players will find many large branches scattered across Sellia. They can offer cover for magic users as they can hide behind these branches and launch attacks from a distance until the fight ends. It might take longer than swords or melee weapons, but it's a safer choice.

Upon death, Battlemage Hugues will drop Battlemage Hugues Ashes. In addition to that, players will also be rewarded with 7,800 Runes.
