In Elden Ring, you can discover many types of weapons and armor to enhance your build and gameplay. While most of these armaments are obtainable from defeating bosses and looting chests, a select few only have a small chance of dropping from regular enemies, such as the Grave Scythe and Banished Knight’s Greatsword. These weapons have a mere 2-8% chance of dropping, making their farming process tedious and time-consuming.

Fortunately, there are a few ways to increase the drop rate in Elden Ring. The chance of obtaining loot drops depends on your character’s Discovery stat. In this guide, players can learn about all the ways to increase their Discovery stat, which will, in turn, boost the drop rate of items dropped by enemies in Elden Ring.

How to Increase Discovery in Elden Ring

There are three ways to raise your character’s Discovery stat in Elden Ring:

  1. Silver Scarab Talisman
  2. Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot
  3. Increasing the Arcane stat

Silver Scarab Talisman

Equipping the Silver Scarab Talisman is the best way to increase the drop rate of items in Elden Ring. This talisman increases the character’s Discovery stat by 75. With the Silver Scarab alone, you will have an easier time farming equipment.

However, there is one downside to the Silver Scarab. This talisman is found in the Hidden Path to the Haligtree, one of the endgame dungeons in Elden Ring. To get to the Hidden Path of the Haligtree, you will have to defeat Morgott and collect both halves of the Haligtree Medallion. Then, go to the Grand Lift of Rold to use the Haligtree Medallion and reach the Hidden Path to the Haligtree.

After entering the Hidden Path to the Haligtree, head straight to the hallway with stairs leading to a rounded platform with a broken rail on one side. Fall down this side to land on an invisible pathway. Head straight to the archway in front to find a narrow hallway. At the end of this hallway, there is a Grave Glovewort [9]. Strike the wall behind it to unveil a hidden section with the chest containing the Silver Scarab Talisman.

Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot

The Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot Crafting Recipe

The Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot is a craftable item that raises Discovery by 50 for 5 minutes. To craft one Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot, you will need three Rowa Fruits, one Four-toed Fowl Foot, and one Silver Firefly. You can find Rowa Fruits from red bushes seen everywhere in Limgrave, while Silver Fireflies are common in Limgrave’s caves and the Siofra River. However, Four-toed Fowl Feet are only dropped by uncommon Guillemots and Eagles found in Limgrave.

Crafting isn’t the only way to get Silver-Pickled Fowl Feet in Elden Ring. You can also purchase three of them from Gatekeeper Gostoc. More can be found spread across various corners of the Lands Between, such as in the hut north of the Gate Town Bridge site of grace in Liurnia and on a pillar’s ledge behind the Stranded Graveyard.

Increasing the Arcane Stat

Each point invested in Arcane increases your character’s Discovery stat by 1 until you max out the stat. For this reason, Arcane builds are best for farming equipment, as they have a much higher item drop rate than other builds. However, if you don’t plan to create a build centered around the Arcane stat, you can use the following talismans and armaments to boost Arcane slightly:

You can also use Godrick’s Great Rune to boost all stats, including Arcane, by 5. The same effect can be doubled by using the Grafted Blade Greatsword Ash of War: Oath of Vengeance. With all this equipment, you can get a significant boost to your Discovery stat, leading to increased item drop rates.
