Elden Ring is an exciting RPG set in a challenging universe teeming with formidable enemies and invaders. To advance in the game and collect Great Runes, players need to defeat several boss enemies, which requires destructive weapons and tools.

Margit’s Shackle is one of the tools players can find in the game. This guide will cover everything that players need to know about Margit’s Shackle in Elden Ring.

How to Get Margit’s Shackle in Elden Ring

To purchase Margit's Shackle , players will have to make their way to the Murkwater Cave. Here, they will be able to buy it from an NPC Merchant and field boss, Patches, for 5,000 Runes. To reach Murkwater Cave, players will need to go to Agheel Lake first and then take the northern path along the river. If it is the player’s first visit to this area, they will be invaded by Bloody Finger Nerijus, an invader NPC in Elden Ring. After beating him, turning to the left will reveal the entrance to the Murkwater Cave.

The cave is like a small dungeon occupied by seven highwaymen. The floor of the cave is set up with bell chains, so players need to be super careful here. Triggering even one of the bell chains will make all seven highwaymen appear at once, and then players will have to fight all of them. From the main room, turn right and proceed into the boss mist, where players will find an unopened chest and an empty campfire. Upon opening this chest, Patches will appear.

Halfway through the fight, Patches will surrender, and players can choose to forgive him or kill him. If killed, he will drop his Bell Bearings. On the other hand, if players opt to forgive him, he will open a shop where players will be able to purchase a variety of items. If players kill Patches, his Bell Bearings can be given to the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold in exchange for Margit’s Shackle.

Using Margit’s Shackle

Margit, The Fell Omen, may be one of the first main bosses of the game, but defeating him is no child’s play. Players will need all the ammunition they can get- and that is where Margit’s Shackle comes in. During the fight with Margit, the Fell Omen, Margit’s Shackle can be used to stun him, which will give players the much-needed time to hit him.

However, players need to keep in mind that Margit’s Shackle can only be used twice against Margit. Furthermore, it can only be used during the first phase; if he pulls his hammer of light, the shackle will no longer work.
