Caelid is infamous in the Elden Ring community for its spike in difficulty and atmospheric challenges. While the area is not without its challenges, compared to its eastern neighbor region Caelid, Limgrave is a haven for many players. Unfortunately, Caelid is one of the major regions in Elden Ring, filled with great equipment, lore-intensive questlines, and home to Radahn, one of the most iconic shard bearers.

While exploring Caelid isn’t necessary for beating the game, many players feel intrigued by this rotted region and its gloomy, bloody sky. Whether looking for powerful weapons like the Moonveil Katana or effortless rune farming spots, visiting the hellish Caelid is always worth the trouble. In this guide, players can learn about three easy ways to enter Caelid in Elden Ring.

The expansive world of Elden Ring holds many secrets for players to uncover, and these are just a few locations that have been found by fans.

Use Secret Chest Teleporter to Reach Caelid

Elden Ring Dragon Burnt Ruins

In Elden Ring, one of the easiest and quickest ways to reach Caelid is hidden in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins of Limgrave. This ruin holds a trapped chest that teleports players straight to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel, one of the many dangerous dungeons in Caelid. Yet, the journey is not without its risks, as the chest is meant to be a trap. As a result of being near the starting area, several unsuspecting players have been caught by the trap chest.

To find the chest teleporter, players will have to descend the cliff on the east side of The First Step, site of grace. This grace site is located right where players meet Varré for the first time. From the cliff, players will be able to spot the Dragon-Burnt Ruins. Safely drop down the cliff and proceed to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins. At the heart of the ruins, there will be stairs leading down to a room filled with rats. Avoid the rats and head to the end of the room to discover the teleporter chest. Open the chest and stay in the shrouding smoke to teleport to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel.

Elden Ring - How to leave sellia crystal tunnel

Players will then be teleported to a small shack inside the Sellia Crystal Tunnel. Now, the real challenge is to leave the tunnel safely. Exit the shack and move right down the path to find the exit while crouching to avoid attention from Kindred of Rot enemies. If quick enough, players can also choose to sprint and leave the cave. Before leaving the Sellia Crystal Tunnel, make sure to activate the grace site to return, as this cave’s boss drops the first Somberstone Bell Bearing and has useful smithing stones, Faithful's Canvas Talisman, and more.

Use Bestial Sanctum Teleporter Gate to Reach Caelid

Hidden behind the Third Church of Marika is a teleporter gate connected to the Bestial Sanctum located in Dragonbarrow, a region north of Caelid. Players who haven’t visited the Third Church of Marika yet can reach this place by heading southeast from the Gatefront site of grace and then taking the path going north after crossing the bridge.

After entering the Third Church of Marika, go behind the statue of Marika towards the shallow end of the river. The teleporter is concealed behind some bushes. Take the teleporter to reach Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow. Once there, leave Bestial Sanctum and start heading south until eventually reaching the minor Erdtree. Then, take the whirlwind to reach Fort Faroth. Move southwest to discover another whirlwind and use it to descend, entering the main Caelid area in Elden Ring.

Take the direct path to Caelid

Elden Ring Caelid Route

In Elden Ring, players gain access to the reliable steed, Torrent, after talking to Melina and accepting her request. This swift mount makes the entire traveling process significantly easier, quicker, and simpler compared to walking. It is possible to reach Caelid by riding Torrent and heading east from Limgrave.

After reaching the Third Church of Marika, players can decide either to take the portal to Bestial Sanctum or climb the cliff to find the path to Caelid. Taking the teleporter will expose players to high-level enemies like Black Blade Kindred and Flying Dragon Greyll. Instead of taking the risk, players can choose to climb the cliff behind the Third Church of Marika.

There are three Spiritspring Jumps (whirlwinds) one after another to take players right to the top of the hill. From there, the path to Caelid is straight and easy. Follow the path going east to reach Smoldering Church and then Rotview Balcony. Players shouldn't get too close to Smoldering Church unless they are ready to fight the NPC invader Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater.

Elden Ring - Going to Caelid

Alternatively, players can start their journey from Stormhill Shack. From the Stormhill Shack site of grace, ride Torrent and head east to reach Saintsbridge and then Summonwater Village. While here, players can also pick up the Green Turtle Talisman, an excellent early-game talisman to help with stamina recovery. Cross Summonwater Village while avoiding undead enemies to find the path leading to Caelid.
