Elden Ring's monumental success within the Soulsborne titles can be attributed to various factors, with its exceptional accessibility for new players standing out as the most significant. Many gamers started with Elden Ring, making it their first challenging Souls game. This led them to try other titles, realizing how tough the genre can be. The game's simplicity comes from the variety of equipment and items it offers, making it easier for players to navigate the challenging Lands Between.

A standout feature in Elden Ring is the talismans, similar to rings in the Dark Souls series. These talismans give special effects, like stat boosts and damage enhancements. However, some, like the Fire Scorpion Charm, are so powerful that they come with a downside. This talisman boosts Fire damage by 12% but reduces Physical damage negation by 10%. It's perfect for Pyromancy builds and Strength or Faith builds focusing on weapons with Fire damage. The good news is, you can easily get this talisman without having to face any tough boss enemies.

To obtain the Fire Scorpion Charm, players should journey to Fort Laiedd, situated west of Mt. Gelmir. As you climb to the roof, you will find the spirit NPC just behind the walls near the stairs.

Elden Ring Fort Laiedd location

For players unfamiliar with the Mt. Gelmir area in Elden Ring, locating Fort Laiedd may be challenging. Here's a detailed walkthrough on reaching Fort Laiedd and acquiring the Fire Scorpion Charm talisman.

Before reaching Fort Laiedd, gaining access to the Altus Plateau is necessary. The easiest route involves collecting both halves of the Dectus Medallions from Fort Haight in East Limgrave and Fort Faroth in Dragonbarrow. After obtaining both medallions, use them in the Grand Lift of Dectus, located northeast of East Raya Lucaria Gate, to enter the Altus Plateau.

Once you arrive at Altus Plateau, head towards the Seethewater River, located east of the Wyndham Ruins. To reach it, go north from the Altus Plateau site of grace, leading to Erdtree-Grazing Hill. The Wyndham Ruins are just beyond the Erdtree-Grazing Hill grace site. From there, proceed west to find the Seethewater River site of grace.

Starting at the Seethewater River, head north, and then west from Seethewater Cave (the cave entrance locked by an imp statue). Continue straight to reach Fort Laiedd, but exercise caution due to the presence of fire geysers along the path. Just before reaching Fort Laiedd, make sure to activate the Seethewater Terminus site of grace, as it is the nearest grace site to the fortress.

Elden Ring Fort Laiedd entrance

Upon reaching Fort Laiedd, players will encounter Fire Monks and Flame Chariots defending the castle. Avoiding them, head straight for the castle’s entrance on west, guarded by a Fire Monk. Inside the fortress, either defeat the Fire Prelate for the Prelate's Inferno Crozier, a powerful colossal hammer, or bypass him to locate the door to stairs. Open the door and take the stairs to enter Fort Laiedd's rooftop.

Elden Ring Fort Faroth Spirit Location

On the rooftop, search for the spirit hiding behind the walls by moving northwest from the stairs. Players can spot the spirit NPC shortly after ascending the rooftop using the stairs. Leap over a broken wall to approach the spirit and acquire the Fire Scorpion Charm positioned next to them.
