Bloodhound Knight Darriwil is an optional boss in Elden Ring. Tarnished with Dex builds would want to hunt this boss down for his signature weapon, the Bloodhound’s Fang. The boss can be very intimidating and might cause a few deaths along the way. For that, do not fret, there’s a Statue of Marika stationed exactly next to the boss fight.

As the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil is not a mandatory boss in Elden Ring, people shouldn’t worry too much about defeating him. It may take a while before the tarnished fully understands the boss’ attack pattern, so remember to be calm while learning his moveset. How To Beat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil In Elden Ring

Defeating Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Elden Ring

The Bloodhound Knight Darriwil is viciously quick, wielding his Bloodhound’s Fang Curved Greatsword to inflict maximum damage upon his prey. His style of combat is to get close, swing his Curved Greatsword two to three times, then get out as quick as possible. Sometimes, if players get too far, Darriwil will disappear and at the same moment appear in front of the tarnished, striking his combo again.

The Bloodhound attacks cause Hemorrhage (formerly known as the Bleed status) in Elden Ring, so blocking the damage with shields and counting on Guard Counter is not recommended. Instead, players should roll out of his swings and understand his patterns to know exactly when to strike back.

Parrying Bloodhound Knight Darriwil in Elden Ring

The most useful tactic in this boss fight is Parrying. The Knight swings many slashes that are vulnerable to Parrying and easily punishable. As in any Souls game, after punishing the Bloodhound with a vicious Visceral attack, immediately charge a strong attack by holding R2/RB.

All in all, Bloodhound Knight Darriwil is a strong and quick foe, yet after understanding his moveset and pattern, his HP can be drained quickly and players can easily beat the boss.
