Elden Ring is full of difficult bosses. Many players have seen the game over screen from the same enemy multiple times as they figure out its patterns and behaviors. Elden Ring bosses are consistent trials for gamers to take on and eventually conquer.

One of the most heartbreaking moments in a boss fight for a player is to get the enemy down to a sliver of health only for it to kill them. After putting in all the hard work to get an enemy to its final point, it is saddening for gamers to see their character fading away before landing the finishing blow. One player experienced this with Elden Ring's Elden Beast, which they got really close to defeating only to taste death right before claiming victory.

A Redditor known as FrootChill posted a clip of them fighting the Elden Beast. The video shows the player dodging the enemy's attacks, whose health bar is close to being empty, and then using their last Flask of Crimson Tears as they charge in. As FrootChill makes it to the boss and begins initiating the final hits, one of the Elden Beast's attacks connects and kills the Elden Ring gamer.

FrootChill's video is quite popular as it sits with over 10,000 upvotes on Reddit. Many agree that the gamer got a little greedy at the end, which is what led to their death. One commenter stated that the biggest enemy in Elden Ring is patience, with some users sympathizing with FrootChill as they too have died to impatience. It is mentioned that the player would not have rushed in the way that they did if the boss had not been at such low health. The clip shows one of the most tragic ways to die in a FromSoftware game.

While FrootChill died just as they were going to finish a boss, one player died before the fight could even start. A gamer going by the name mndflyr posted a clip on Reddit that shows them die just as they entered the fight with Elden Ring's Godskin Duo. The player walks through the fog wall only to get hit by something and lose instantly. It turns out that the damage came from outside the boss arena, as enemies who have been aggressive toward the player before they enter a boss fight can still attack and land hits through the fog. It is unfortunate, as many would think that there would be safety from outside dangers when walking through a fog wall.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
