A common theme in the open-world genre of video games is glitches, and unfortunately Elden Ring is the norm rather than the exception. Glitches in Elden Ring vary, with some being completely harmless and others being frustrating or infuriating.

Luckily for the game, most of its glitches were on the harmless side to begin with, and because of the release of patches for Elden Ring, many of these glitches as well as some of the more frustrating ones were fixed. However, the game is far from cleaning out every bug or minor glitch.

Many of the glitches left over have little to no effect on gameplay, and are instead quite funny for players to encounter. For example, there is a rare glitch that can occur when players summon friends for a boss fight that causes the boss to attack through Elden Ring's fog walls. Recently, another player encountered a glitch that was even less of a hinderance but just as funny, causing the Night's Cavalry boss to lose their horse and "ride" through the air towards the player.

Reddit user Routine-Abrocoma8849 discovered the glitch during the boss encounter, joking that the boss looks quite stupid without their horse. In contrast to Elden Ring's disappearing Torrent glitch, rather than hinder the boss, the loss of their horse seems to have absolutely no effect on them. Instead, it makes them look like a miniature version of Radahn who has learned the secrets of gravity magic; frankly, this is a much scarier and equally funnier version of the boss.

Reddit users agreed with this sentiment, adding their own jokes onto the clip. One user joked that the Night's Cavalry now looked like popular internet meme Crazy Frog but with a massive glaive, citing the fact that the character also flies through the air while riding nothing. Another user joked that it is not a glitch; instead, the horse is the only equine member of the Black Knives. While the visible version of the horse is clearly not wearing Elden Ring's Black Knife armor set, it is wearing a black cloak that would suit the group's shadowy vibes. Yet another user made the joke on every Spongebob fan's mind, noting that the Night's Cavalry must have been riding the invisible boat mobile.

Whatever the reason behind the Night's Cavalry's newfound flying abilities, the clip was hilarious to see and is a great example of a glitch that can improve a gamer's experience rather than hinder it. Surely this glitch will also be fixed in the future, but until then some players will have to square up against this much more menacing version of the nighttime boss.

Elden Ring is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
