While some of the best rewards in Elden Ring are hidden in dungeons scattered throughout the world, others are out in open semi-dungeons located around the map, often taking the form of ruins. One of these is infested with demi-humans, who are traditionally weak foes, and it holds a powerful early game staff and sorcery. Here's how Elden Ring players can get them.

How to Get Demi-Human Queen's Staff and Crystal Burst

Step 1: Over the Bridge

The Demi-Human Queen Staff can be found on the landmass south of the starting area of Limgrave. Getting there is pretty straightforward, as the remains of an old road lead directly to the bridge connecting the two landmasses. Getting over that Bridge of Sacrifice is another matter, as it's manned by guards and a ballista firing explosive bolts. It's worth breaking through, though, as past it is an area where players can get one of the best bows in Elden Ring as well as the Staff.

Step 2: Westwards and Upwards

The next step is to find the Watchtower on the island, which is manned by more guards. Getting to it requires riding or sneaking through a field of flowers that can alert enemies to your approach, but once the tower is cleared, players won't get sniped by its ballista anymore. Getting sniped the first time is arguably a "fun" death in Elden Ring, but not one that needs repeating.

Step 3: The Demi-Human Ruins

With the tower cleared, the nearby forest is available, and in it, the Demi-Human Ruins. The best method here is the Metal Gear Solid method, as there are many demi-humans nearby, and if they spot the player, they will scream out, alerting others to their presence. There is even a Demi-Human Chief sleeping in the ruins who should be taken out quickly and as quietly as possible.

After that, the main event: battling the Demi-Human Queen and her court (more regular demi-humans). This is not officially a boss fight, but the Queen is huge, has big, sweeping attacks and can retreat from the player surprisingly fast. She also uses Crystal Burst, the magical equivalent of a shotgun blast.

Since she can bring down walls and there are likely still some demi-humans around, the fight can quickly give way to Elden Ring's chaotic madness. It's recommended to take out her henchmen first, preferably one by one, while the Queen is distracted. Defeat her, and a smaller version of her Demi-Human Queen Staff and Crystal Burst sorcery are won. Don't forget to look through the ruins for a staircase before leaving; it leads to a unique buckler shield complete with Shield Bash.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
