Elden Ring and The Witcher may boast two very different worlds, but one player has gone out of their way to combine The Continent and the Lands Between. Instead of just making Geralt with the game’s character creator, though, they are roleplaying as the Witcher in their Elden Ring playthroughs.
This player’s Geralt has plenty of company from his own universe, though, as others have made Ciri and Yennefer using Elden Ring’s character creator. However, Reddit user I__Mountain__I has gone all-in with their version of Geralt. While they used FromSoftware’s tools to recreate the White Wolf’s signature hair, and found some appropriate armor for the monster slayer, it is how they embraced his play style that is truly special. Gamers get to see I__Mountain__I’s Geralt in action, and they fight just like the one from CD Projekt Red’s series.
As the clip begins, it becomes clear just how much thought has gone into this Witcher-themed Elden Ring build. While Geralt is seen holding a large sword in his hands, the fact that another is present on his back adds a lot to the aesthetic. As fans of the games know, Geralt has a silver sword for monsters and a steel sword for humans, and he carries both at all times. However, the Redditor also recreates one of Geralt’s signs using a specific item.
While a few of Geralt’s signs could likely be replicated within Elden Ring, Igni is the most iconic, so the build focusing on it makes sense. To utilize Igni in combat, the Redditor tosses out some Spark Aromatics. This consumable sees players spending some FP to toss sparks in front of them, dealing damage in an arc around the Tarnished. While this works great against groups of foes, it can be effective against bosses, something shown throughout the Redditor’s battle with Bloodhound Knight Darriwil. The manner in which the sparks are thrown clearly resembles the look of Igni being used in The Witcher 3.
Throughout the entire fight, the player mixes this Igni-like attack with sword slashes, and it does not take long for them to bring down their foe. With the Redditor on NG +6, the build seems to be equally cool and deadly. Further, with I__Mountain__I going through so many Elden Ring playthroughs as Geralt, they clearly love the character. Unsurprisingly, Reddit responded well to the post, showering the player with praise and giving the clip over 2,800 upvotes.
With others becoming The Emperor from Star Wars, Marvel heroes like Doctor Strange, and video game characters like Kratos, the sky is the limit for creative gamers. While this particular Tarnished may hate using portals, they are likely great at battling the many odd monsters in Lands Between.
