Elden Ring, the latest release by From Software is the open-world action RPG that just keeps on giving. Since its release over two weeks ago, it has become the best-selling game in the US and UK, offering players multiple options to embark on their progress through the Lands Between as they see fit. The plethora of content it has generated plays a large part in its player engagement as fans spend their time continuously going back and sharing their progress.

The ways in which many Elden Ring players have built upon their finds have been a large part of the journey for many keeping tabs on what's on offer in the massive game. From speedrunning records pushing the game's completion time down to the countless updated guides showing the best spots to farm for Runes. Now one Redditor has shared the latest update on his character look-alike from Game of Thrones, which completes the fit with a very familiar weapon.

One player has taken advantage of the Elden Ring’s weighty character customization to recreate Beric Dondarrion from the highly popular series Game of Thrones, now brandishing a flaming sword. The Redditor MatthewFireEye already shared his take of the role last week but has since used fire grease and the flame strike Ash of War to further craft their creation. Utilizing the Vagabond class starter kit, which can be also be bought from merchants in the game, the kitted out Dondarrion is truly a sight to behold.

Beric Dondarrion doesn’t look out of place in Elden Ring. Donning an eye patch and very similar facial features to the character, the original poster has replied to those wishing to recreate the character with screenshots of the slider options in the comments. With many impressed commenters wishing to see a full cast line-up, others are left wishing for a Steam workshop integration to allow for easier creative sharing.

The ability to share character customizations, especially those already based within a fantasy context, would be a welcomed addition to Elden Ring. With the original A Song of Ice and Fire author, George R. R. Martin offering input to the work build of the game, it would be curious to gain his verdict on the recreation of his characters. However, while this awaits to be seen, it could lead to similar concerns of FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki after “twisting” his original designs for the game.

While Elden Ring continues to offer creative freedom concerning several mechanics in its colossal open-world, the community waits to see what aspects of the game can be pushed further.

Elden Ring is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
