Fia is the Deathbed Companion in Elden Ring. She's first encountered at the Roundtable Hold, in the chamber behind Smithing Master Hewg. She will ask players to hug her and will then grant Baldachin's Blessing. However, the Deathbed Companion won't stay there forever. After Elden Ring players have defeated two Shardbearers, Fia's questline will begin.
It's worth nothing though that although Fia and Ranni's questlines are not directly related, players will still need to advance to a certain point in Ranni's quest so that Tarnished can give Fia the Cursemark of death and find Nokron, the Eternal City.
Fia Full Quest Walkthrough In Elden Ring
Fia's questline will be triggered upon beating two Shardbearers (like Godrick the Grafted and Rennala Queen of the Full Moon). While embracing her, a new dialogue will unlock. She'll give Tarnished a broken dagger and ask them to deliver it to its rightful owner. They can then give it to D, Hunter of the Dead, who's sitting on a chair next to the Roundtable.
After handing over the dagger, players should reload the Roundtable Hold and head to the closed door behind Smithing Master Hewg and Rodrika. There, Fia is hovering over D's corpse. She'll speak a bit before disappearing, after which, players should be sure to grabe D's Twinned Armor Set from his body.
Before proceeding any further in Fia's quest line, Elden Ring players must complete a few steps from Ranni's quest, inlucing the following:
- Talk to Ranni the Witch in Ranni's Rise
- Travel to Siofra River and meet Blaidd, the Half-Wolf
- Find out how to reach Nokron by talking with Seluvis
- Defeat Starscourge Radahn in Redmane Castle
- Re-visit Ranni and obtain the Carian Inverted Statue
- Go to Divine Tower of Liurnia and get the Cursemark of Death
- Travel to Mistwood Ruins and head to Nokron, the Eternal City
Once in Nokron, players should look for Aqueduct-Facing Cliffs Site of Lost Grace. It's a hidden part of Nokron called Siofra Aqueduct.
Once there, players should find the Valiant Gargoyle boss room. A second Gargoyle will appear when the first is down to 50% HP. The boss will drop Gargoyle's Greatsword and Gargoyle's Twinblade.
After defeating the two Gargoyles, Tarnished should interact with a coffin nearby, just next to a giant waterfall. This action will take players to a new Hidden place called Deeproot Depths.
As the name suggests, this place is overwhelmed with tree branches. Players must use them to move around and find the Across The Roots Site of Lost Grace. Next to it, there's a large open space that has Godwyn's corpse.
There, Tarnished will find Fia, and will have to fight against her companions. There are three phases to this boss fight, so they'll need to make sure to save flasks for each one.
How To Get The Age Of Duskborn Ending In Elden Ring
Following the victory over Fia's companions, players will again be able to talk to Fia. Talking to her will trigger two options, but players should choose to be held by her and exhaust her dialogs. She will give a Baldachin's Blessing and a Radiant Baldachin's Blessing, then ask for the Cursemark of Death. At this point, players should give her the Deathmark then reload the Elden Ring area by sitting on a Site of Lost Grace.
After reloading the area, Fia will be sleeping, and touching her will transport Tarnished into her dream. Inside, players must fight Lichdragon Fortissax. The Elden Ring boss is a dragon who uses lightning. Thankfully, Spirit Summons are allowed in this boss fight.
Beating the Lichdragon Fortissax grants players 90,000 Runes and the Remembrance of the Lichdragon. The latter can be used to acquire Fortissax's Lightning Spear and Death Lightning incantations.
Going back to Fia, The Mending Rune of the Death-Prince can be found on her motionless body. With that, players have unlocked the Age of Duskborn Ending. They can then reload the area again to get Fia's armor set.
How To Get Inseparable Sword In Elden Ring
During Fia's questline, Sorcerer Rogier will hint that D, Hunter of the Dead, had a brother. Optionally, after D's death, players can find his sibling crying just before the Valiant Gargoyles. Upon interacting with him, they should give him the Twinned Armor Set. Doing so will trigger D's brother to kill Fia at the end of her questline.
Players needn't fret though, as killing her like that won't affect her quest's ending since Fia dies anyway after granting the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince.
After beating Lichdragon Fortissax and picking up the rune, players should reload the area. D's brother will be standing over Fia's bloodied corpse enjoying his victory. Tarnished should exhaust his dialogue and then reload the area again. This time, Tarnished will find the Elden Ring Armor Set that they gave him and the Inseparable Sword.
