An Elden Ring fan online has shared a strange image of a bug that gives the Erdtree an interesting Cyberpunk 2077-esque makeover. There have been plenty of interesting video game crossovers over the years, but this unintentional one is particularly bizarre.

Elden Ring has been a crazy success for FromSoftware, with the game garnering plenty of critical acclaim upon its release early last year. It was the first title to really introduce the studio's famous SoulsLike formula to the mainstream, an impressive achievement given its focus on high difficulty. Elden Ring was recently back at the peak of sales charts, showcasing just how strong its reputation is in the eyes of the gaming community.

Redditor Icy-Lobster1654 shared the image of the Erdtree, which in this bug has been illuminated by a remarkable amount of neon lights, or so it seems. There's no denying that there are some serious Cyberpunk 2077 vibes happening here, but it's not clear what the actual cause of this bug is. One user in the thread had a theory that certainly seems plausible. Apparently, Elden Ring has a PC issue where RTX files are corrupted easily, resulting in problems like this. It also means that verifying the integrity of the game's files would solve the problem instantly, so they can at least easily solve their neon Erdtree problem if they want.

Despite Elden Ring's massive critical acclaim, there's no doubt that gamers have found plenty of interesting bugs in the game. One terrifying Elden Ring bug turned Godfrey into a Silent Hill nurse, which is quite a sight. In a game as large as Elden Ring, it's inevitable that a few glitches slip through the cracks. Luckily, the game has reached a point where anything truly game-breaking has been patched out, which is especially important given the overall length of the game. There's nothing more frustrating than getting hours into a game, only for it to break beyond repair, but with Elden Ring, it's mainly strange visual bugs that remain.

Elden Ring fans remain patient for news about the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Initially revealed in February 2023, developer FromSoftware has since remained silent on the expansion. It seems that the studio has decided to take its time with the DLC, which is sure to be the right decision. It would have been easy for FromSoftware to swiftly capitalize on the game's success and put out something half-baked that disappointed the community. It would definitely be out of character for the studio, though, which tends to put a ton of care and polish into each release. Hopefully, it isn't too much longer until FromSoftware is ready to discuss more about Shadow of the Erdtree.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
