An Elden Ring enemy gets sick of being staggered and bullied by a player and abruptly throws them off a cliff in a hilarious clip. Elden Ring is one of the most accessible games developer FromSoftware has ever made, but it is also one of the most unforgiving if players get too greedy. Players have to always be vigilant, even after playing the game for dozens of hours. If not, then some enemies will fight back in the most brutal and often humiliating way possible. Sometimes, the results are hilarious, and this unfortunate player went a little too far and the enemy had enough.

Elden Ring is one of the most open games in the open-world RPG genre. Players can go wherever they want, whenever they want, and they can approach combat in whatever way they choose to. That sense of freedom leads a lot of gamers to experiment with different builds and mechanics in the game. But sometimes, the experimenting can go horribly wrong, even against normal enemies. That is the case with this clip, though bosses often cause hilarious fails in Elden Ring too.

In the clip posted to Reddit by user Kromers, a player pummels a Rotten Duelist enemy with the Lion's Claw weapon skill. This causes the enemy to fall down multiple times and even staggers it for a critical blow, but instead of doing that, the player continues using Lion's Claw. What comes next, just when the Rotten Duelist is near death, is heartbreaking. The Rotten Duelist readies its grab attack and catches the player with the snake attached to its arm, throwing them off the nearby cliff, something that results in a hilarious death despite the player having the clear advantage.

The Rotten Duelist is actually a boss enemy in one of the many catacombs in Elden Ring that then becomes a regular enemy in the Consecrated Snowfield area in the late-game. While this death could be seen as heart-breaking by many, since the player had so many runes in their possession and was set to win, it is also a showcase of how hilarious some deaths are in a game like Elden Ring, in which players can expect to die often.

Even after dozens or even hundreds of hours of gameplay, things can go horribly wrong in Elden Ring quickly. But players often find themselves in positions to pick themselves up, learn from their mistakes, and continue on their quest to become Elden Lord.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
