Elden Ring Has Passed Another Incredible Milestone

FromSoftware's open world Souls game, Elden Ring, reveals that it's achieved another stunning sales figure two years after launch.

The Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer showcased a brand-new area for players to explore that is filled with all kinds of horrific monstrosities. It's been revealed that this new land is called the Land of Shadow, and it will be accessible through the cocoon in Mohgwyn's Palace. This was revealed by Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview with IGN. In that same interview, Miyazaki addressed the size of the new area in Elden Ring's DLC, saying it will be comparable to Limgrave. "It's hard to answer without giving away too much and to a high degree of accuracy, but if you think in terms of scale or size, it's probably comparable, if not larger, than the area of Limgrave from the base game," Miyazaki said.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Trailer

Those that haven't played Elden Ring in a while may need a refresher about Limgrave. Limgrave is the starting area of Elden Ring, though that doesn't make it any less dangerous than the other landmasses in the open world action-RPG. Right off the bat, Elden Ring players are faced with the deadly Tree Sentinel , and as they explore the open world, they will undoubtedly find themselves at Stormveil Castle.

Stormveil Castle is an iconic location in Elden Ring, filled with unique monsters, interesting NPCs to interact with, and one of the game's most memorable fights. Stormveil Castle is where Elden Ring players fight Godrick the Grafted, one of the most difficult bosses in the early-game. Needless to say, it will be incredibly exciting to see what kind of bosses Elden Ring players have to contend with in the Land of Shadow, and if any of them are able to live up to the high bar set by the base game's fights. Fans will find out when the Elden Ring DLC release date rolls around on June 21.
