In Elden Ring's 1.03 patch, several NPCs had more content added to their questlines, with much of this content having been uncovered in the game files by data miners prior to the update. Until the update, it was assumed that many of these seemingly unfinished questlines were simply cut content, but FromSoftware's release of patch 1.03 has restored much of this content to the game.
Among the Elden Ring NPCs to receive new content in this patch is Diallos, a Noble of House Hoslow who is initially encountered at Roundtable Hold early in the game, and whose journey takes him to Liurna of the Lakes, Volcano Manor, and Jarburg.
First Meeting, and then Tragedy Ahead
Diallos is initially found at Roundtable Hold and can be found there as soon as the player is invited to the hold by Melina. He can be found near the round table itself and will ask the player to keep an eye out for his servant. His servant is a woman named Lanya, and finding her will require players to make their way to the Academy Gate Town in Liurna of the Lakes.
The Academy Gate Town Site of Grace is an excellent starting point, since heading north and slightly west from there will lead players to the corpse of Lanya, watched over by a mourning Diallos.
The Volcano Manor
After meeting Diallos in Liurna of the Lakes, players will next encounter Diallos in Roundtable Hold where he will reveal the identity of Lanya's killers. Apparently, the culprits were the members of the Volcano Manor.
In order to progress Diallos' Questline further, players will need to locate the Volcano Manor in Mt Gelmir. Choosing to join the Manor and reloading the area will cause Diallos to appear in the Drawing Room.
Here, he reveals that he has quickly abandoned his quest for revenge in favor of joining the Volcano Manor, spurred on by the encouragement of Tannith. With the lady of Volcano Manor spurring him on, he has become a member of the same group that murdered Lanya.
His newfound fervor doesn't last long, however, as defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, in the depths of Volcano Manor will cause him to reconsider his choices.
Exhausting his dialog after defeating Rykard will cause him to leave the manor. Prior to patch 1.03, this was where Diallos' story ended.
Jarburg's Potentate
Diallos next appears in Jarburg, a hidden location in Liurna of the Lakes. Jarburg can be found by traveling southeast from the Artist's Shack Site of Grace until reaching a cliff (located just south of the Carian Study Hall) and then finding platforms that can be used to drop to Jarburg below (make sure to activate the Site of Grace here in order to return more easily in the future). In Jarburg, Diallos has found a new purpose as the Potentate, caring for and protecting the living jars.
The NPC Jar Bairn can also be found here and will give their opinion of Diallos if their dialog is exhausted. Returning to this area sometime after exhausting Diallos and Jar Bairn's dialog will reveal that a poacher came by to attack the living jars and that Diallos has successfully fended them off.
Unfortunately, Diallos is in poor shape and will die after his and Jar Bairn's dialogs are exhausted, and the area reloaded. Diallos leaves behind his mask, the Hoslow Petal Whip, and a Numen's Rune worth 12,500 runes.
