The developers of Elden Ring put some serious work into creating a wide array of unique weapons for players to find and unlock. There are tons of choices, giving Tarnished access to hundreds of possible build combinations. But some weapons are much better than others, as some come loaded with unique skills that can completely turn the tide of battle, especially when it comes to PVP.

A great example of this is the Coded Sword, a Faith-based weapon that can produce tons of Holy damage. This awesome-looking unique straight sword lets users tap into a skill called Unblockable Blade Skill , making it one of the best options for breaking through heavily armored enemies like shielded Crucible Knights (or other players that favor shields). Those that put a lot of points into Faith will definitely want to add this sword to their growing arsenal of weapons. Here's how to find it in Elden Ring.

Updated January 8th, 2024 by Russ Boswell: Those looking for a solid Faith-based weapon should check out the Coded Sword in Elden Ring. This one-handed unique straight sword comes with Unblockable Blade and can dish out some decent damage for those that upgrade it correctly. To better help players find the Coded Sword location in Elden Ring and gain access to Unblockable Blade, the following guide has been updated with a companion video.

Where To Find The Coded Sword In Elden Ring

Elden Ring West Capital Rampart Site Of Grace

Finding the Coded Sword is, thankfully, relatively easy. Unfortunately, it's locked in a zone that most players won't access until much later in their journey. Those that want the Coded Sword will have to travel deep into Leyndell, Royal Capital. The easiest way to access the sword is to start from the West Capital Rampart.

From the Site of Grace, players will want to head South and then jump off the wall and onto the roof of an abandoned horse stable (players will know they're on the right one because there is a massive tree root nearby). From the roof, players should continue West and jump onto the roof of another horse stable, using it to climb onto the wall and enter a nearby doorway. This will put players into a hallway, where they can run to the end and turn right to find themselves in a familiar-looking room. Around the other side of the table is a large door that players can open, which will put them in a room with a throne. The Coded Sword sits on this throne.

What Does The Coded Sword Do?

Elden Ring Coded Sword Shot

The Coded Sword is a Faith-based weapon, in fact, that's the only stat requirement that players will need to wield it. It's a straight sword and requires 20 Faith in order for players to use its weapon skill, Unblockable Blade. Activating the weapon skill will cause the blade to lengthen into a long golden point, before slashing forward and covering some pretty impressive range. The best part about this attack is that it cannot be blocked and must be dodged, making it ideal for taking care of shielded enemies and rival players. It'll cost players 25 FP each time they use the skill.

The Coded Sword features B-scaling for Faith, making it a great weapon for players that favor the Straight Sword and are looking for a strong Faith-based weapon. It looks incredible, too boot, featuring a blade that's made from golden-tinged writing similar to the summon signs that players can leave behind.
