Elden Ring added a number of new features to the basic From Software formula, many of which have been warmly received by fans so far. One of the new additions is a well-developed stealth system that allows players to sneak up on foes and deal heavy damage to unsuspecting targets. One Elden Ring player recently shared a video showcasing them teaming up with another random player to perform a perfectly-timed stealth attack that belongs in a gameplay trailer.

Like the settings of many From Software games, the Lands Between is a very dangerous place where any misstep can cost gamers their lives. Using the stealth system properly can give players a valuable leg up on the many powerful enemies that roam these war-torn lands.

Redditor Leugim7734 shared a short video showcasing themself working with another player to devastate two enemies with stealth attacks. The video begins by showing the pair navigating over what seems to be a castle turret in silence, both crouching to indicate that they are using Elden Ring's stealth mechanics. They soon spot two enemies standing in the corner of the area, facing away, with a spectral image indicating that the gamers should attack.

Without exchanging a word or even using Elden Ring's Gesture system to communicate, the pair sneaks up behind their foes. Each selects a target and then executes a surprise attack simultaneously. One of the enemies goes down and stays down, while the other one takes heavy damage but rallies. Despite this, the two players are able to attack steadily from the surviving target's front and back and soon wear down its health to zero. The whole encounter takes less than 25 seconds, indicating that these two make quite an effective team.

According to Leugim7734, they had no idea who the other player was and neither said a word as they set up the dual stealth attack. Several users replied to this post by referencing the "Jolly cooperation" meme from Dark Souls. Two more users joked that the video contained footage from a new Assassin's Creed game, likely because of how effective the stealth attack ended up being. A number of other users expressed interest in the spear that one of the players was using in the video, which features the Repeating Thrust weapon art. Leugim7734 was happy to explain where they got both the spear—which was dropped by Patches—and the weapon art, which they gained from a Night's Cavalry.

Elden Ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
