Elden Ring was first revealed with a cinematic trailer at E3 2019, and after that, it became incredibly difficult to find any information about the game. Despite the lack of Elden Ring info, hype remained high, with the upcoming open world FromSoftware game winning an award for being one of the most highly-anticipated upcoming games at The Game Awards. It's clear that many are excited to play Elden Ring and see what it has to offer, and soon some lucky fans will get their hands on the game.

Elden Ring is hosting a Closed Network Test at various points between November 12 and November 14 so FromSoftware can properly test the game's online features and functionality. Anyone that wanted to participate in the Closed Network Test needed to register by November 1, with codes sent out in a limited capacity. However, some of the people that registered for the Closed Network Test and received a code don't plan on actually playing the game and are instead selling the codes on eBay.

Elden Ring Closed Network Test codes are currently being sold in the range of $225 to $250 on eBay. Since getting an Elden Ring Closed Network Test code didn't even require a purchase, this is obviously a ridiculous asking price. It's unclear if anyone's actually buying any of these super expensive codes, especially since the Closed Network Test is going to be so limited anyway, but some fans may very well be tempted if they can't wait until February to play the game.

Fans have been waiting quite a long time to play Elden Ring, so it's possible those who are growing impatient may bite the bullet and pay this absurd price to get in on the Closed Network Test. And while the Elden Ring release date was delayed from its original spot in January to late February, it's really not all that much longer of a wait for the full game.

And while nothing has been announced, it's always possible that FromSoftware will host a beta test or something a more widely available prior to launch. That way it can get more feedback on a larger scale about Elden Ring's classes, the open world, and various gameplay features before the full experience is released to the masses at the end of February. Regardless, anyone interested in Elden Ring can play it by the end of February without having to pay such a high price for such limited content.

Elden Ring launches February 25, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
