With a diverse range of gameplay options including single player, cooperative, and player-versus-player, Elden Ring offers an experience perfect for many different gamers. Along with these options are Elden Ring's enormous open world, its obscure yet interesting story, and enough challenging boss fights to put games like Contra to shame.

Along with the messages, including an Elden Ring message trolling ladder users, the aforementioned cooperative and PVP elements serve to offer a sense of community to the game. Not only that, but the endless opportunity for players to play with or against one another leads to some pretty hilarious moments.

Sometimes, these funny moments occur when friends team up to take down a boss, such as one boss attacking Elden Ring players through the mist that resulted in a player's unfortunate yet comical death. However, recently a clip captured the moment a player was betrayed by their own offer of goodwill, leading to their untimely death.

The player was Reddit user alangm0, who captured the clip while helping to repel invaders from another player's world. What happened is that alangm0 was running across rooftops until they found their enemies. Though the enemies were invaders looking to kill the host, honorable player alangm0 offered a greeting, attempting to wave to the intruders. However, this simple gesture would be alangm0's final mistake, as they gestured too close to the edge, causing them to fall to their death. In some cases, gestures such as Elden Ring's erudition gesture can be extremely helpful, but in the case of the wave gesture, alangm0 found out that gestures can be deadly if used improperly.

Other Reddit users varied between comedy and condemnation in their comments. For example, many users cracked jokes about hunters (blue players) in Elden Ring, talking about the times they had failed to help against invaders. Other users offered sympathy, noting that certain spells had caused them to fall off buildings and cliffs as well. Another user stated they were cracking up over the clip, saying that it looked like alangm0 called to the invaders to get their attention and show them their death.

Regardless of poor interactions with hunters or an Elden Ring player falling to their death, the clip is a hilarious example of what not to do when near any ledges. One can never be too careful when fall damage comes into play, as it is an easy way to wind up dead in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
