An experienced Elden Ring player has tried to teach a friendly invader how ride one of the giant moving horse platforms in a dungeon, but the lesson resulted in a hilarious platforming blunder. FromSoftware's 100+ hour open-world Souls title Elden Ring is still providing its playerbase with memorable and hilarious moments almost two years after its release. Selling over 20 million copies since its February 2022 launch, it went on to win Game of the Year at The Game Awards last December and is regarded as FromSoftware's most successful game yet.

Elden Ring's open world of the Lands Between is absolutely massive with its variety of distinctly unique areas for players to uncover, both above and below ground. A core part of exploring the Lands Between is coming across some of the plentiful dungeons which can be found tucked away in the beautiful landscapes. These dungeons can be quite challenging, guiding players through mine shafts, tunnels, and groups of vicious enemies toward a climactic boss fight at the very bottom. Some perilous platforming may be also be required to get through a number of these dungeons, which adds yet another layer of danger for explorers to face.

Elden Ring Developer FromSoftware Working on 'Multiple New Projects'

Following hit titles like Elden Ring and Armored Core 6, FromSoftware is reportedly beginning work on a number of distinct projects.

One player decided to give a friendly invader a helping hand with a difficult platforming challenge in Elden Ring's Gelmir Hero's Grave. On Reddit, Jolly_Old_Lautrec posted a two-minute video which begins with them demonstrating how to ride the moving horse platform across a lava-filled tunnel to an onlooking invader. They then get off the platform and guide the invader using pointing emotes off a small ledge and up a ladder into a room where they're able to traverse some beams above where the horse platform stops at the top of the tunnel. The guiding player times their drop perfectly and lands safely on the platform. The invader immediately follows suit but is just a tad late and hilariously falls to their death.

Upon a closer look, it seems like the invader was not only a bit late, as the horse platform had already swiveled around to take off by the time the invader landed, but they also missed the mark as well, landing on one of the spiked wheels on the side, immediately dying. It's clear that simply touching these wheels, even when the platform is stopped, will result in instant death. The guiding player received credit for the unfortunate death of the invader, as the Elden Ring multiplayer message "Bloody Finger Vanquished" popped up on screen.

There are large swaths of gamers out there who love large-open world RPGs that provide years of silly and hilarious moments, and it seems like Elden Ring is fitting that role for many players quite well as it approaches its second anniversary early next year. Looking ahead, FromSoftware's Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is out the door, which means Elden Ring's upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is likely the legendary studio's next release.
