FromSoftware's newest RPG Elden Ring boasts an impressive number of boss battles. As the studio continues its trend of letting players take on the game's most challenging behemoths while dodge rolling to safety, one fan of the game has been compiling the multitude of bosses in a very artistic chart, with a surprising level of insight.

Elden Ring has received lots of sales and attention since release, and the immense list of boss battles to take on comes with a serious amount of lore to match the overarching storyline. Therefore, a handy chart has been created to categorize and group together similar boss species'. The chart lists many bosses that appear throughout Elden Ring, so gamers should beware of spoiling boss appearances if they wish to look over the chart.

Reddit user u/ChromedDragon is the creator of the large thematic chart, helpfully detailing Elden Ring bosses by dividing them into groups and subspecies, such as Void and Erdtree Avatars. This includes optional "field" bosses that can be found in open world play over the Lands Between and not indicated by a fog gate, as well as some bosses that aren't connected to any others. The closer to the center, the more impactful and story-heavy a particular boss is for the Elden Ring lineage.

The art style used in the chart blends the traditional art styles with different color schemes and shapes to depict each boss collection. For example, the Erdtree Avatars are not only green, but also sprout up from the Evergaols like a plant rooted deep in historic origins. In 24 hours the chart has amassed over 5000 upvotes on the Elden Ring subreddit, gaining a lot of attention for fans looking to discuss lore or even "completionists" determined to battle every single one.

Other fans have noted that several bosses are left off the chart, specifically the secondary versions of earlier bosses like Astel and even the infamous Godrick the Grafted, simply known as the "2nd" version. Some have said this makes the chart incomplete as a result, but this criticism is more a result of FromSoftware's decision to re-use bosses.

The variety of boss battles in both design and challenge has led to some criticism for levels being too difficult, while several Elden Ring bosses have been bested in hilarious ways like Night's Cavalry. The full chart shows a wide array of bosses to take on during a playthrough, which serves as more evidence of how much engaging content is there to discover in the Lands Between.
