An Elden Ring player manages to build up a fortune of over 80 million runes. Even though Elden Ring is a new IP, it features many mechanics found in FromSoftware’s previous games. Like the Dark Souls series, Elden Ring’s world has bonfire-equivalents, shortcuts, maze-like levels, and extremely difficult bosses for players to challenge.

Runes in Elden Ring function similarly to souls or blood echoes in Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Players earn them by defeating enemies or by using certain items, and they are lost should users die in their playthrough. Gamers are then tasked with retrieving their runes from the spot they perished, with the risk of losing them forever should they die on the way. While many players will be constantly spending runes on leveling up or improving their weapons, one Elden Ring fan has somehow managed to amass an incredible amount of them.

A Reddit user named CaelanIt has shared an image showing that they currently have over 80 million runes in their possession, 80,686,410 to be exact. The max level in Elden Ring is 713, and players will need around 1,692,558,415 runes in total to reach this stage, but CaelanIt is already at this level. 80 million is a ridiculously massive amount of runes, and it’ll probably be difficult for any fan to spend them on items or equipment. In one of the comments, the user explains how they managed to obtain over 80 million runes in Elden Ring.

CaelanIt is currently on NG15 and has played the game for over 1,000 hours on this particular character. They mention that Elden Ring’s PvP was one of the biggest sources of runes, as they claim to have helped many fans in their battles against other players. CaelanIt asks other users for advice on how to spend these runes, as it looks like they have run out of things to buy.

Most of the comments are filled with jokes, with many gamers asking the player to buy land in the world of Elden Ring. One fan mentions that CaelanIt is finally ready to start an archer build due to the cost of arrows in the game, while another wants them to open a consumable shop and compete against the various vendors players meet throughout their journey.

One user also recommends collecting all the bell bearings that allow users to purchase smithing stones and somber smithing stones in Elden Ring. However, this advice may not be that useful, as CaelanIt may have already finished everything in this playthrough.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
