As the premise of Edens Zero is only in its initial stages, the identities and roles of many characters are still a mystery waiting to be unraveled. While several secrecies, such as Drakken Joe’s immortality, have been revealed by the series, others are yet to be presented to the audience. However, Season 2 of Edens Zero finally demystifies the identity of one ever-present character – Master Noah.

Master Noah was initially presented as an antagonist colluding with the likes of Drakken Joe, with a cover-up as the Guild Master of Shooting Starlight on planet Bluegarden. His position as an antagonist was cemented after he relayed crucial information to Drakken Joe about the Edens Zero crew’s whereabouts, though this portrayal was later retracted. The series has now revealed his actual identity, turning him into a major character that is bound to make rounds in the show once more.

Master Noah’s Initial Role in the Series

Master Noah Talking to Drakken Joe

Master Noah was initially kept in the shadows, even barring viewers from catching a glimpse of this peculiar character. However, his name remained at the center of every major incident surrounding Rebecca Bluegarden, from her being trafficked into planet Guilst to Drakken abducting her for the Cat Leaper power. This coincidence positioned Noah as a possible antagonist, with similar goals to Drakken Joe seeing how the two were witnessed directly communicating several times.

However, Noah’s position as a possible villain was retracted after his conversation with Shiki and his friends in World 30, where he shed light on his true motives of defeating Drakken Joe. While not convincing enough, it gave the crew the insight about Rebecca being the key to defeating Drakken Joe and that World 30 is the last opportunity to overcome this criminal once and for all.

This event removed the initial negative connotations associated with Noah, yet it still couldn’t free him from the eye of skepticism since he did act as an informant for Drakken Joe. Moreover, the information he gave to Rebecca seemed quite eerie considering he knew her since she was a little girl, even keeping tabs on her and her whereabouts. Still, his adamance in getting rid of Drakken Joe was enough for him to seem believable, even though his true identity was yet to be revealed.

Master Noah’s Actual Identity

Master Noah's Identity

After Shiki defeats Drakken Joe and his artificial permanence retracts itself, the crew visits planet Bluegarden to discuss matters with Master Noah. Due to Rebecca's Cat Leaper power being involved in the incident, Master Noah asked for Shiki and his friends to remain unsung heroes. To make it up to the crew, Noah reveals his true identity, both out of obligation and respect for the novice bunch that took out one of the Sakura Cosmos’ greatest evils.

In a surprising turn of events, Master Noah is revealed to be a Director of the Galactic Intelligence Agency or GIA, a secret intelligence organization of the Cosmic Government. The role of Shooting Starlight’s Guild Master was nothing but a cover-up for his true identity, allowing him to keep tabs on the Sakura Cosmos by lying low among adventurers.

From criminal accomplice to an intelligence agent, Master Noah’s characterization has gone back and forth since his introduction to the series. However, the newest revelation about his actual identity truly comes as a jarring surprise, as none could have guessed his actual roots. With such a key role within the show, Master Noah has been cemented as a crucial character for the plot, meaning future appearances are bound to happen.

The Galactic Intelligence Agency

Galactic Intelligence Agency Edens Zero

The Galactic Intelligence Agency or the GIA seems to be a branch division of the Interstellar Union Army, the Cosmic Government’s main peacekeeping force. The GIA’s main purpose is espionage and infiltration, acquiring crucial information for the government by entering enemy lines. While much still remains unknown about this branch of the IUA, three members have been identified with differing goals.

Amira was one of the first members of the GIA to be revealed, a recurring character since the planet Digitalis arc. Her mission was to take down Drakken Joe by any means necessary, which she was able to achieve with the help of Shiki and the Four Shining Stars.

A third member of this faction also exists, with a goal of spying on the notorious space pirate Elsie Crimson. While it was never explicitly stated in the series that Jesse works for the Galactic Intelligence Agency, the series heavily implied this fact after revealing he secretly works for Elsie’s crew. Jesse was also shown relaying information to Amira behind Elsie’s back, clearly indicating his identity as a spy for the government. Since Noah is the Director of the GIA’s Sakura Cosmos branch, his duty is to overlook all missions within this cosmos. This points towards Noah being the mastermind behind these espionage missions against the Oracion Seis Galactica members, with Amira and Jesse being his subordinates.
