Earthblade will be quite a different experience. Whereas Celeste was a challenging platformer with an emotional narrative, Earthblade appears to be more of an action-adventure game. Thorson has not revealed much about Earthblade since the game was initially announced, but it looks like that could change in a matter of hours.A recent tweet from the official Earthblade Twitter account has fans buzzing that the highly-anticipated indie could be making an appearance at The Game Awards tonight. The Extremely OK Games shared a gif of Earthblade where damage is being done to enemies, with one enemy getting hit for 12 damage and the other taking 8 damage. The Twitter for Earthblade re-tweeted the Extremely Ok Games tweet with eye emojis, suggesting that the 12/8 could very well translate to December 8, the night The Game Awards is taking place.
While it certainly seems as though Earthblade is gearing up for a big reveal at The Game Awards tonight, fans should keep their expectations in check. It's unlikely, but it's possible that the numbers in the gif are just a coincidence. It's also possible that the Earthblade Twitter is trolling fans and the game won't have an appearance at The Game Awards.
