Crossplay has become something of a standard for online multiplayer games in recent years, though the degree to which the function is supported can often vary from game to game. FIFA 23's crossplay support received a fair amount of criticism on account of it being missing from all co-op game modes and the lack of cross-gen support, so many franchise fans were hoping for some pretty big changes in EA Sports FC 24.
The good news is that many of the community's complaints have been addressed in this year's edition, with crossplay support added to four new game modes and the ability to filter leaderboards by platform being introduced. Sadly, however, one of the biggest pet peeves from last year's game still lingers on, which will likely frustrate many EA Sports FC 24 players.
How Crossplay Works in EA Sports FC 24
As far as game modes and match types go, EA Sports FC 24 boasts full crossplay support, with players now able to team up with friends on other platforms in co-op game modes like Clubs, Co-Op Seasons, Volta Football, and Ultimate Team Co-Op. Unfortunately, however, the game will once again use two different cross-play pools, meaning that PS4 and Xbox One players will not be able to play with PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players, and vice versa. Again, much like in FIFA 23, handheld players will be left out in the cold, with the Switch version of EA Sports FC 24 boasting no crossplay support whatsoever.

Platforms that Support Crossplay in EA Sports FC 24
As mentioned above, EA Sports FC 24 uses two different crossplay pools. One contains PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S players, and the other contains PS4 and Xbox One players. This means that current and last-gen players will be unable to play EA Sports FC 24 together.
