EA Sports FC 24 is finally out on Early Access for Premium Edition buyers, and the FUT (Ultimate Team) mode has started off with a blast. With the Nike Mad Ready promo, the Kevin De Bruyne Flashback SBC, and more out, fans can start adding players to their club right away. Like each installment in the franchise, they can create their own club, customize their kit, stadium, logo, to name a few, and make their squad reign supreme against other fans.
When players start off in FUT, they get to choose their club’s badge, name, kit, etc. Many are eager to get to the gameplay and set a name without giving it much thought. Fortunately, developer EA hasn't locked players’ choices, and they are thus free to rename their club any time they want. Since newcomers and a good chunk of players might be confused about how to do so in this new game, let’s take a look at the detailed procedure.
EA FC 24: How to Change Club Name
The process to change an FUT club’s name in EA Sports FC 24 is quite easy and can be completed in a couple of minutes. The steps to take are:
- In the main menu, click on Ultimate Team and enter the mode.
- Stay in the Home section. Press RB on Xbox, R1 on PlayStation, or C on PC to scroll right along the various subsections present.
- Click on Settings. Then, scroll right and click Rename Club.
- A new screen will be displayed. It will let players set the full name of their club, choose a nickname, and hit Confirm.
- Once done, their club’s new names will be set.
It is important to note that the club's full name box allows only 15 characters, while the nickname allows only three. While players can also use space and numbers, they cannot use any special characters. If they go through old records, they’ll notice that the new name has replaced the old one there as well.
As explained, players can easily change their FUT club’s name in EA Sports FC 24 as many times as they want. This comes in really handy as a player’s mindset and team may change through the game’s cycle, which typically lasts the full year. By allowing players to change their names, EA has ensured that they can customize their FUT experience as deeply as they wish.
EA Sports FC 24: How Is FUT Different This Year?
EA Sports' latest title marks a soft reboot in the football simulator series. Breaking away from the FIFA title and introducing a host of gameplay improvements using the Frostbite engine and HypermotionV, FUT is going to be a lot different from FIFA 23.
For starters, players can now have male and female footballers in their EA Sports FC 24 FUT club teams. The natural mechanics of chemistry will be applied here as well. The absence of cards like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and many others and the presence of changed versions of other footballers are set to make FUT more immersive this year.
Many players have noted that the current rewards, such as the various packs available and the rewards for the ongoing SBCs, are much better compared to FIFA 23. This works as a fan-appeasement service of sorts since the traditional Welcome Packs have been removed. As such, it is a good time for fans to set whichever club name they want and start their FUT journey immediately.
EA Sports FC 24 is currently out on Early Access for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The full release will take place on September 29, when it will also come to the Nintendo Switch.
