Details surrounding EA Sports College Football 25 are finally being revealed, with the highly-anticipated sports title officially revealing its multiple cover athletes, official release date, and other important information. The first college football video game to be released in over a decade since the now-pricey NCAA Football 14, the new, re-named installment cover features Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter, launching July 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The official reveal of EA Sports College Football 25's cover athletes will likely come as little surprise to those who have been closely following the football sim's development. According to multiple sources on Twitter/X, the PlayStation Store page of EA Sports College Football 25 accidentally revealed the game's artwork for its Deluxe Edition early, with EA only now officially revealing the cover art.

College Football 25 Includes Important Feature

EA Sports College Football 25 will include a popular feature on Xbox consoles and possibly PlayStation 5 as well.

The first active college athletes to be featured on an EA Sports cover according to the company, the cover art interestingly takes somewhat of an opposite approach to its professional league counterpart, the Madden NFL series. Instead of a singular player facing at least mostly towards the camera, EA Sports College Football 25 purely features players' backs. Edwards is front-and-center, flanked by Ewers on the left and Hunter on the right. A few other players are included, although more towards the background, including Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Georgia's Carson Beck, and Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins.

A Collage of Colleges

A variety of other college team helmets can be seen even further away, like those of Notre Dame, Florida, Oregon and more. The newly released info about the title confirms the potential bad news for EA Sports College Football 25 fans, in that the game is exclusively releasing for next-gen consoles, meaning PC, Xbox One, and PS4 owners will be out of luck. The game is touted to feature 134 FBS schools with immersive atmospheres, and will feature 120fps gameplay, something likely beyond the prior console generation's capabilities.

EA Sports College Football 25 wasn't the only title to have its info leaked early, as Madden NFL 25's release date and editions leaked ahead of its official reveal as well. The game will reportedly launch on August 16, roughly just a month after the launch of EA Sports College Football 25. Should it be true, this summer is shaping up to be a great one for football video game fans everywhere.
