With the cancellation of E3 and a number of other major conventions, it seems several of the biggest studios and publishers in the world are currently unsure of when to reveal their biggest new games. Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, however, will look to alleviate these concerns, with a number of major industry names teaming up with the event to deliver a summer's worth of major game reveals and gameplay debuts.

One such name featuring in Keighley's big summer gaming event will be EA, who has recently announced when it will be sharing more news about its future lineup with fans. According to the major game publisher, a new EA Play Live broadcast will be coming on June 11 at 4 PM PST, promising a ton of news surrounding EA's future releases.

Although details are currently fairly limited on what EA will be showcasing at its big Summer event, the announcement does tease that "world premieres, news, and more," will be coming to fans when they tune into the June broadcast. Naturally, it seems as though this is the company's chance to detail its plans going into the next generation, which will no doubt be a major opportunity for EA to get out in front of the competition and make some major announcements. The publisher could, after all, use some positive press following a number of scandals this generation, and with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 kickstarting a new era of consoles, it makes sense that this could be a fresh start for the polarizing company.

As for what EA could show at EA Play Live, it seems likely that fans will see new footage from a slew of its popular sports franchises, like FIFA and Madden, as well as more news surrounding Apex Legends. However, a number of rumors have swirled about projects the company is currently working on, including a new UFC game and some future Star Wars titles, like a Fallen Order sequel and the mysterious Project Maverick. Fans have also been demanding a sequel to Skate for years, and it seems likely that the company will eventually oblige.

Regardless, it's interesting to see so many companies joining Keighley in beginning a new era of gaming press conventions, with Summer Game Fest potentially spelling the end for E3. With the likes of PlayStation, Xbox, and now EA joining forces with the major new video game event, it seems this year's slate of conferences will be a welcome change to the annual convention lineup.

EA Play Live will be broadcast on June 11 at 4 PM PST.
