On September 20, EA Motive announced that it was working on a brand-new Iron Man project. Little is known about what this game will look like because it is still in pre-production, but Marvel fans are very excited to see what Motive will create. It may be quite some time before players can actually see Tony Stark's latest adventure, and it may be even longer before they can finally get their hands on the title.

The new Iron Man game is being developed by EA Motive, and it will serve as the studio's fourth project. Motive first opened its doors in 2015 and was founded by Jade Raymond, a former Ubisoft executive. The studio worked on Star Wars Battlefront 2 alongside Dice and Criterion Games before blazing its own trail with Star Wars Squadrons, and is now hard at work on a remake of Dead Space. TIme will tell if Motive operates well outside the Star Wars sandbox, but anticipation is high for the future of this growing studio.

Star Wars Battlefront 2

Star Wars Battlefront 2 was the first project that EA Motive worked on, but it was not the main developer. Dice headed up that project, while EA Motive and Criterion Games served as collaborators. Specifically, EA Motive was focused on crafting the single-player campaign which introduced players to the commander of Inferno Squad Iden Versio right after Return of the Jedi. It was considered by many to be too short, but it was still a pretty decent experience.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 has become infamous for the controversies that arose due to its microtransaction model, but the game underneath was actually pretty fun. The multiplayer was thrilling, and the story brought players to many iconic planets throughout the galaxy to interact with some of the most popular characters in the franchise. The gameplay was not half bad either, as it made players feel like they were a part of the galaxy. Motive expanded the story more through DLC, which continued the story during The Force Awakens, and it was a decent addition to the Star Wars canon.

Star Wars Squadrons

After EA Motive helped create Star Wars Battlefront 2, it forged its own trail with Star Wars Squadrons. The game was released in 2020, and it brought the Star Wars galaxy to space for a space combat game that provided hours of fun. It put players in the cockpit of iconic starfighters like X-Wings and Tie Fighters, and had them do battle across the stars. They could follow a story set after Return of the Jedi, or duke it out online in fun 5v5 dogfights.

The story of Star Wars Squadrons was considered by many to be pretty lackluster, but the game made up for it with the intense gameplay. Players would take control of various starfighters, and each fighter felt ripped straight from Star Wars. Players would have to learn different mechanics based on the class of ship they used, and they would have to think on their toes if they wanted to survive. Many players considered it one of the best space combat Star Wars games, but it did not receive much post-launch content and there have been zero signs of a sequel.

Dead Space Remake

EA Motive is now working on a full remake of 2008's Dead Space. It is targeting a release date sometime in 2023, and the game will allegedly stay pretty faithful to the original title, but with some new additions thrown into the mix. It looks like it is going to be pretty fun for fans of the series and new players alike, and anticipation is very high.

Iron Man will be EA Motive's fourth project, but there are rumored to be many more titles in various stages of production. It is still a very young company and does not have much to its name yet, but if the Iron Man game is good, then the studio could quickly become a household name. For now, Marvel fans will just have to wait and see what EA Motive has planned for the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark.

Iron Man is currently in development.
