There is practically nothing known about EA Motive's Iron Man game, besides it currently being in development. With the company having a deal to develop three different Marvel games, the prospect of an official Iron Man game is quite exciting. As one of the most beloved heroes in the history of Marvel, flying around as Iron Man in his suit could offer some thrilling mechanics, but there is also the potential for the game to be much more than the titular hero.

Video game adaptations of Marvel characters are having a huge renaissance at the moment. From Insomniac's successful take on Spider-Man to the upcoming Marvel Rivals hero shooter, iconic characters are getting exciting new interpretations. EA Motive is putting itself in the mix with three planned Marvel games, and they are all shrouded in mystery. Although Iron Man will obviously be taking the lead role in the game, there is ample opportunity to include some of Tony Stark's most notable allies.

Iron Man Could Feature Some of Tony Stark's Companions in Supporting Roles

Protecting the world as Iron Man is an enormous task, and Tony Stark can't do it alone. Through the years, Stark has built a strong support team behind him who have become iconic in Marvel Comics in their own right. EA Motive's Iron Man game has to tread carefully if it wants to succeed, but featuring characters like Ironheart and War Machine as supporting roles could help flesh out the game.

Ironheart

The character of Ironheart is a newer addition to the Marvel Comics canon, but an incredibly compelling one. Born as Riri Williams, she showed strong intelligence from a young age and had a knack for inventing. This intelligence and curiosity led her to build her very own suit, which caught the attention of Tony Stark. This led Stark to take her on as an apprentice, eventually becoming the hero known as Ironheart.

War Machine

James "Rhodey" Rhodes is one of the most well-known of Tony Stark's companions, as War Machine has been featured in a variety of movies in the MCU. Compared to Iron Man's usual suit, the War Machine suit is usually heavier and has a Gatling gun and rockets attached to make it a powerhouse of a weapon. This could be a perfect way to introduce heavier fighting mechanics when more muscle is needed in combat.

There is currently no set release date for EA Motive's Iron Man game.

Rescue

Last, but certainly not least, is the possible inclusion of Rescue, the moniker Pepper Potts takes on when using the Mark XLIX armor. With Tony Stark and Pepper Potts being so intertwined, it would be surprising to leave her out of the game, so she will likely show up in some capacity. However, featuring her as Rescue is a possible route EA Motive could take.

EA Motive's Iron Man Could Bring a Unique Story to Life

Despite the secrecy behind the project, EA Motive gave an update about Iron Man earlier this year. Iron Man is still very much a priority at EA, and it's set to bring an all-new story to life. According to EA Motive, this take on Iron Man will be a single-player game and won't be tied in with the MCU. Although this eliminates the possibility of using multiple characters from Iron Man's world for a multiplayer game, it still could present the opportunity for the game to switch between characters, a la Insomniac's Spider-Man.

There are a lot of hopes for EA Motive's Iron Man, and only time will tell how it pans out. There is a lot of potential behind a single-player Iron Man game, but it needs to be well-balanced in order to succeed, and multiple characters with specific specialties could help accomplish that. As the year goes on, more information about EA Motive's Iron Man will hopefully come to light.
