Earlier this month, E3 laid out the plans for its first all-digital convention, announcing an online portal and an app that will have access to the entire event. Alongside the reveal, it also offered details on when players will be able to pre-register for a place at the event, teasing that it would be "later this month."

Today, E3 has officially announced when the registration process will take place, with fans able to pre-register starting June 4. Additionally, media can sign up now, exhibitors are able to apply on May 26, and industry members and influencers get access on May 31. Signing up is as simple as heading to the event's website, clicking which of the five groups the visitor applies to, and then entering their details.

Once signed up, they will secure their place at the convention, which is slated to take place between June 12 and June 15. Members of the press will be able to get access to E3 slightly earlier, with the online portal opening for them on June 7. As for what to expect from the show, it looks to be packed with big names, with Xbox, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, SEGA, and more primed to make an appearance. Fans can expect to get fresh looks at gaming's biggest upcoming releases as well as plenty of exciting surprises.

As for how they'll interact with the convention, E3 is already boasting an array of interesting features through its online app. There will be virtual booths for fans to attend, lounges to relax at, online forums to chat on, and even leaderboards they can use to compete against each other. All the while they'll be able to tune into the main conferences through the online portal, with the app allegedly having "special overlays" that will be interactive. Fans can look forward to discovering more when the event starts next month.

It won't be the only big gaming event slated for June, however, as Geoff Keighley recently announced that Summer Game Fest will make its grand return starting June 10. The festival will come packed with various shows and plenty of world premieres, with Keighley confirming that the kick-off presentation has at least 12 new games to announce. An array of partners have confirmed their involvement already, including Sony, Microsoft, 2K, Activision, Epic Games, and more. Last year's inaugural Summer Game Fest lasted several months and it seems this year's iteration will follow the same formula.

E3 is slated to take place between June 12 and June 15.
