After a no-show in 2020, E3 is back this year with an all-digital event. As always, most major publishers are confirmed to be a part of it, and expectations are sky-high for the first very next-gen E3 showcase.

E3 has always been the place to get an update on the most anticipated video games that are still years away from release, and this year should be no different. Although the pandemic has bound to have an impact on this year's showcase, here are five massive games everyone wants to see at this year's E3 nevertheless.

Starfield

2021 could be the year of Bethesda's upcoming open-world action RPG Starfield. First announced at E3 2018, Starfield has been shrouded in mystery ever since.  Being Bethesda's first new IP in over 25 years, the expectations for the game are exceptionally high, and fans can't wait to see how the game would look and play on the next generation of consoles, assuming it comes out on PlayStation at all.  Recent rumors suggest that Starfield is launching in 2021 as an Xbox exclusive. Whether it's true or not, an E3 2021 reveal seems more than likely at this point.

God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok won't be at E3 simply because Sony won't be a part of it. However, that doesn't mean that fans don't want to get a glimpse of one of the most anticipated PS5 titles. Sony could still hold another Future of Gaming-style event, similar to last year at the same time as E3, to showcase some of its upcoming titles including God of War Ragnarok.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Recent Capcom leaks have suggested that a Resident Evil 4 Remake is happening. Capcom has done a great job with Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, and one could only wonder how breathtaking a Resident Evil 4 Remake would look on next-generation of consoles. Capcom is confirmed to be at E3 2021, so an official reveal could happen.

Elden Ring

FromSoftware's highly anticipated collaborative project with George R.R. Martin has yet to receive any kind of update since it was revealed at E3 2019. The prospect of Elden Ring being the company's most ambitious project ever has fans awestruck. Hopefully, gamers won't have to wait much longer to get their first proper glimpse at Elden Ring with E3 right around the corner. Bandai Namco is listed as an attendee of E3 2021, while a recent 4chan leak listed Elden Ring's reveal date specifically during a time that falls in line with this year's E3.

Grand Theft Auto 6

Grand Theft Auto 6 Cities

Saying that Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated unannounced game would be an understatement. It's been eight years since Grand Theft Auto 5 first dropped on PS3 and Xbox 360, and while the game has received regular updates for its online counterpart, the demand for a brand new full-fledged Grand Theft Auto game persists.

Rockstar Games' parent company Take-Two will be attending this year's E3, but the chances of GTA 6 appearing there are pretty slim. The company's massive popularity means that it doesn't need a platform like E3 to promote its upcoming games. However, E3 has been home to big surprises in the past, and one could always hope for another this year in the form of Grand Theft Auto 6.
