Aiden is often tasked with brokering deals between violent warlords and street thugs in Dying Light 2. The lesser of two evils will always be light on the "lesser" and heavy on the "evil" when it comes to the various factions and sides of a deal that Aiden overseas.
But when a little girl asks for a music box, the only remaining memory of her mother, it's a kind change of pace to do something right, for once. Though if Aiden finds the box, he has to choose between his own pocketbook and doing one of the few purely good choices in Dying Light 2.
Where To Find The Music Box
After getting the mission and fighting off the bandits looking for Maya, wait for nightfall. Unlike other missions which will prompt gamers to fast-forward time, the game doesn't have night listed as the recommended time of day. But the location is indoors, so it's best to make it nighttime first. Be ready to stave off infection. Then, go to the waypoint, enter the structure from the roof, and smash down the only door.
This time of evening will make there fewer zombies to fight, but there is one significant exception; the box itself is on the goon in the middle of the room. There is no puzzle to solve. As soon as players step in the door, they'd better be ready with some elite combat maneuvers to get the box back.
Selling It
Those who are hurting for coins would get some value from the music box. It's labeled as a unique valuable and the price it fetches is not inconsequential in the early hours of the game, before players have accumulated a fast amount of cash.
Those who are used to automatically selling valuables with the button can easily accidentally sell this valuable, even if they intend to give it back to Maya. For those who care more about monetary rewards than story rewards, this is the best option.
Giving It Back
For those who feel plenty rewarded by gratitude, find Maya at the bazaar. She'll glow green if players scan her with survivor sense. After a brief discussion, players will return the music box to her and Aiden will indicate that the trinket is better left with her.
This is the "worse" of the two options in terms of monetary value, but it's probably the superior choice for the good-guy role-players out there. The choice is up to the player and the game makes both avenues worthy of consideration.
