Dying Light 2, the first-person zombie action RPG from Techland, launched on February 4, 2022. The game is set 22 years after its predecessor, 2015's Dying Light, and features a new protagonist and European city setting. Just like the original, Dying Light 2 offers a vast open-world full of secrets and Easter eggs for players to discover.

One of the trickiest secrets in Dying Light 2 is the VNC Tower safe code. Finding the safe in the first place is a bit of a challenge, and will require some Parkour skills. However, even players who find it will also need to solve a cryptic clue in order to actually get the safe open.

Finding the VNC Tower Safe in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 VNC Tower Safe Code

Before players can find the VNC Tower Safe, first they'll need to unlock the Tower in Garrison Territory by completing the Broadcast story mission. This will make the base of the tower a Safe Zone, and allow players to enter the elevator there. Ride the elevator all the way to the roof, and then head over to a solar panel that's sticking out toward the west. Standing on the solar panel, players will be able to look down and see an open apartment window a few stories below.

Jumping down to this window is easily done with the grappling hook, but may be possible without. Inside the apartment, players will find a safe along the north wall, and a desk in the southeast corner. On the desk is the clue for the safe, a cryptic note that reads "IF U 555 THEN I'M...". Players who want to crack the Dying Light 2 safe code themselves should stop here, as the solution will be in the next section.

Many of the Easter eggs in Dying Light 2 are based on references to other properties, and the VNC Tower safe code is no exception. The note is actually part of the chorus in The Heretic Anthem, a song from Slipknot's 2001 album Iowa. Here's how it goes:

"If you're five-five-five, then I'm six-six-six,

If you're five-five-five, I'm six-six-six,

But if you're five-five-five, I'm six-six-six

What's it like to be a heretic?"

It's fairly easy to guess the safe code from reading the lyrics, and entering 666 will indeed open the VNC Tower safe. Players expecting one of Dying Light 2's powerful weapons will be disappointed, however, as the safe only contains a black rubber duck, with glowing red eyes and a top hat. Fortunately, this is only part of a larger puzzle, and players who collect enough ducks will be able to conduct a ritual in the basement of the VNC Tower to unlock a unique challenge.

Dying Light 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
